Lake Garda accommodation with heated pool for little one

I posted a few days ago about suggestions for a holiday destination for me, my partner and our 10 month old baby in May... after lots of helpful suggestions, we've decided to go for Lake Garda.

However, as someone pointed out, in May it would be best to have a heated pool so that our baby can enjoy the water as well... which rules out 99% of the apart hotels and air bNbs I've been looking at!

I know campsites have heated kid friendly pools but we're after a peace and quiet holiday and am worried a eurocamp place will be packed with other families and kids.

Does anyone know if that kind of accommodation will be busy in Lake Garda in May? Or have any accommodation recommendations for a place with a heated pool?

Thanks v much!

Depends when you go in May, if it’s not school holidays it won’t be packed. Heated pools are not that common in Italy.

maybe look for a Hotel with an indoor pool? I think it’s nicer to do Lake Garda later in the year when you can also swim or paddle in the lake?

Have a look at Il Paradiso golf club resort. Indoor pool and several outdoor pools. Outdoor pools aren't heated but may be hot enough in May. They have apartments and two hotels there. It is very peaceful. With a shuttle bus into the town. Mat is a great time to go. Warm, not too hot and fairly quite.

We stayed at villa Rosa - pretty sure pool was heated but can't confirm. It is highly recommended though

We took our (then) 15 month old to Lake Garda in September and stayed at Poiano Resort - it was beautiful and had a lovely heated indoor pool that was quite small but perfect for her. It was warmer than your standard UK leisure centre pool, like a hydrotherapy pool x

Thanks @positivethoughts1 that place looks amazing but unfortunately a bit over our budget! And @driedapricots101 villa rosa looks lovely but sadly pool isn’t heated.

@SchoolDilemma17 sadly we can’t move the dates any later than the first few days of June due to work…

I don’t know if this is ridiculous but I’m now wondering about getting one of those baby wetsuits for an 11 month old… would that open us up to booking anywhere with a pool without having to worry about water temperature? There’s so many great hotels available just nowhere has heated swimming!!

Hello @DelfiB i wondered what you ended up deciding to do / if you found anywhere in Lake Garda with a heated pool? We are in the same position!

Sorry to hijack the post,
Has anyone driven around Lake Garda in August? Our current itinerary involves driving from Riva del Garda to Peschiera on a Sunday and I wondered if another day of the week would be better?

SchoolDilemma17 · 08/04/2025 14:04

I think in August it probably doesn’t make much difference. Every day will be packed and hot. All of Italy is off in August. Maybe drive very early in the morning.
