UK to Boston via Dublin - how much time to connect?

We are travelling to Boston in August and I’m looking at our flight options. Aer Lingus coming in at a competitive price from Manchester via Dublin. Considering a 3h 30 layover in Dublin to give us time to get from one flight to the other. Am I also correct in thinking we can do US immigration checks at Dublin? Will 3h 30 likely be enough time for a connection and immigration or would we need longer? Appreciate no one can predict whether everything will be on time but thoughts on that amount of time for a connection would be helpful.

Dublins minimum connection time for domestic - transatlantic is 75 minutes, so 3.5 hours should be plenty. I do a lot of connections in Heathrow and always aim to be around the 2 hour mark, Dublin is nowhere near as manic.

And yes, you clear customs in Dublin, huge plus. It's great for transatlantic tbh.

Dublin is very well set up for the transfer to US. I didn't realise the immigration was there and didn't allow enough time, but staff went up and down the queue calling out the next flights and pulling people out to go forward. 3.5 hours is plenty!

I’ve only ever done it the once and it took about 5 mins to clear immigration, I couldn’t believe it 😂. So I reckon 3.5 hours should be loads. I’d def fly that route again to US.

3.5 hours is plenty of time and the US customs option is excellent

Many thanks All! Great to hear that should be plenty of time. Think I’ll get this all booked!
