We fly on Saturday - Monday. Wondering if anyone has any child friendly recommendations to stop by at that we might not find on google?? We have our 5 year old in tow.

Very excited to sample the culinary delights!

Restaurants or accommodation? It's not clear what you mean.

La Vina is the popular spot for cheesecake, we also ate at Bassk cheesecakers which is on the main street along the edge of the old part of town, and a takeaway joint, so easier than queuing with kids. Ubarrechena was perennially popular for paella and casa vegara was also heaving whenever we passed. We are ate in places like Raviolina too, because our kids were 9 and 12 at the time and a bit more vocal about not queuing or standing up to eat. We were there end of August, hopefully you've picked a quieter time. The beach is lovely, the views are lovely from the 2 hills and the whole vibe of the place was fabulous. I'd go back.

Also the buses to/from the airport were very efficient, we did 3 nights in Bilbao first and my husband was stressing about getting to San Sebastian as it was so busy with people, and buses were maybe hourly. We bought a ticket for the bus and they simply ran 3 buses in convoy. To the airport I think they ran just 1 bus, but it was quite early in the morning, and I think everyone managed to get on it.

That's great thank you! I will be taking trousers with elasticated waistband's 😂

The aquarium is good (not sure about winter opening hours). I think the fairground at Mount Igueldo is closed in winter, but the funicular could be worth taking anyway, to see the view across La Concha.
Also there is a little ferry that goes to the small island in the bay; it's a nature reserve with picnic tables etc. That may be a seasonal service though.
The town is lovely and you'll be spoilt for choice for food.

There's a little sightseeing road train if that would be exciting for your 5 year old.

I still have the weather forecast saved on my phone from when we were there last summer. Yesterday it was still sunny and 17c at 5pm. I sent DH this screenshot: Grin
