If you shop around you can usually find a great cruise with a good quality cruise line for the price of P&O, we did two and it was two too many.
Don't listen to people telling you oh this is sold out as quite often other agents or the line direct have availability. Have a root around Cruise critic forum its a great source of info.

A cruise never appealed but I was dying to see the fjords so cruised on P&O Iona in September 2024. Loved it. We stopped in Alesund, Stavenger, Haugesund, and Olden.

Had a really fabulous time. Norway was stunning. The ship we were on was huge and, while busy, never felt packed.

While I don’t think I’ll be someone who cruises constantly, it was a different holiday for us and very enjoyable. You can do as much or as little as you want on the ship and there really is something for everyone. I’d definitely cruise again in another few years.

Have a look for some Facebook groups for inspiration and ideas.

Completely agree with this!

We did the Fjords on Iona too.

We loved it.

Olden was our favourite stop, we booked independently to go up on the sky lift, you need to get off the ship and beat the crowds!
It was magical, in the afternoon we did a lovely hike to a lake in Olden.

We didn’t pay for any excursions, it’s not really necessary.

My Mum went up the coast of Norway with Noble Caledonia and she loved it. It's an expensive option but it's a smaller ship and very luxurious.

@ErrolTheDragon

I should think some people can get seasick on any size of boat, depending on the conditions.* * We crossed from Rosyth to Bergen in a force 9 gale on a Fred Olsen boat which is on the small side - we weren't sick but some were, and I couldn't read. That was only out on the open sea though. The fjords were very sheltered and the coastal waters ok.

For someone who is likely to be seasick, would you recommend that they join the ship in Norway rather than in the UK?
