Honeymoon suggestions

We recently got married and are looking to go on honeymoon probably in early May. Dates can be pretty flexible but we are looking for 10 nights. We have two children but will be leaving them with grandparents so outside of school holidays isn't an issue. Flying from LHR or LGW. Our biggest priority is all inclusive with plenty of food choices/a la carte options. I am happy to sit and read books for 10 days but DH would need at least a day of exploring somewhere to keep him entertained. Budget is up to £3,500. We have looked at Mexico, Sardinia and Kos but only via TUI so far. Open to any suggestions. Any ideas?

If you'd be open to flying from Luton then this looks like a great deal Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa - Puerto Calero hotels | Jet2holidays

Is intercontinental in the game, as Mexico seems to be? Or is Europe key?

Yes intercontinental is definitely an option. I want it to feel like a "honeymoon" and not just an average family holiday.

RE Luton, not non-negotiable but ruling out Stansted as had a terrible time there last year and vowed never to go back.

Well in that case, Caribbean basin is a popular honeymoon destination. If that is part of your scope, question is all inclusive v resort v boutique hotel, lively / things to do versus nature / tranquillity versus some of both.

All inclusive with choices for dining. Option for a bit of exploration but not necessarily activities.

Ok. Positive that most all inclusives in region have honeymoon arrangements. Sandals is a big chain in the region doing all inclusives, especially on the commonwealth islands. In case you want to explore by yourself, one at St. Lucia or Barbados would be a better choice than those on Jamaica. The same advice applies to non-Sandals AIs. Aruba has a row of other brands of all inclusives on Palm Beach, Curacao also has a sandals. on St. Maarten there are Sonesta all inclusives. French islands don't do that formula much. There is also the Breezes all inclusive chain on ao the Bahamas, but that is a bit less honeymoon feel IMO, more "lively". Divi Group also offers all inclusives on Barbados and the Dutch Caribbean. Dominican republic has loads of massive AIs.

If I was to do it myself, also somewhat explorer + beach days, I would see for offers Divi and or Sandals, and then select one in not so lively area (but that is personal). That would not be Jamaica (exploring less recommended re safety compared to all above, though beautiful island) choose one of the AIs around Rodney Bay St. Lucia, St. Maarten or Barbados. These have in common that there is both honeymoon peace, beach, exploration fun and safe exploration around. Aruba & Curacao AIs & Breezes feel somewhat too lively for this setting, DomRep too much resort only offer IMO, bigger distances for meaningful exploration.

All above should be reachable from LHR though not sure re DomRep and be it for Aruba, Curacao and St. Maarten with an easy 15 min flight to AMS first.
