Hello,

I am looking at booking Ikos Dassia or Odisia this Summer. I'm not sure which to go for. Has anyone been to both?

We are a family of four. Not big drinkers, but enjoy delicious food in a luxurious environment.

Thank you 🙏

I've been to Dassia and had a walk along to Odisia for a look. Both are beautiful although Odisia is much more spread out. I would happily go to either.

We chose Dassia because when we booked we were able to get a room with 2 separate sleeping area for the same price as the junior suite at Odisia.

Thanks for sharing that. I have booked a family room at Dassia this time but will certainly walk over to have a look at Odisia while there.

We’ve booked Dassia as well based on feedback that it’s better laid out and not high rise. We’ve done Aria and Mallorca and felt they were too spread out.

We've been to Odisia- it was incredible. We walked to Dassia but for us, Odisia was better.

Wisenotboring · 02/01/2025 19:13

People have their favourites, but we just love Dassia. Sometimes go to aria earlier in the seasons to get warmer weather, but I thinkni still prefer Dassia.

We stayed at the Dassia twice last year. We did look at the Odisia, but for us we prefer Dassia, we usually stay in the Sea building. You will love it, enjoy.

Was in Dassia twice, loved it !

It's a great holiday but the food isn't as amazing as they suggest. You won't have a bad meal but you aren't getting premium cuts of meat, fish or seafood, for example. We were disappointed with the food for the price, and it wasn't worth the money for us as we aren't big drinkers. The dine outs have the tastiest food in my view. As a result we prefer to self cater these days and just go to the best local restaurants every night. Depends on your definition of good food I guess.
What is good though is the ability to request stuff that isn't necessarily offered, as room service. They were quite obliging with that. Pool snacks also very nice (fresh fruit, particularly).

Thank you all. We are looking forward to our first Ikos experience. Hopefully the first of many...

I’d agree with this. We had a nice holiday at Dassia but the food was entirely unmemorable. Since then we’ve done self catering holidays in Greece at a fraction of the price and had the most incredible food in amazing locations by eating in local restaurants. If food is important to you I wouldn’t go to Ikos (or any large hotel tbh) It’s not bad, just quite samey.

Relecat would you be willing to share your Greek Ikos alternatives?
Was looking for options for 6 … 4 young adults + parents …. In September … possibly 2 locations - one villa / one hotel …. 2 weeks not in school holidays.

Need to have some activities to keep kids entertained but like the sound of amazing locations with local restaurants as I don’t want to cook all the time!
Everyone I know raves about Ikos but it’s so expensive!
Have not been to Greece for years and any recommendations would be most appreciated! Thanks

Also interested but my contribution is Mousses, Lefkada. It's not a fraction of the price but it is significantly less than Ikos. Great local restaurants (I say this as someone who tends to eat in pretty decent London restaurants). Has a kids club but small. Excellent on site restaurant too so to be honest you can do pretty minimal self catering (just breakfast really - you could have lunch there every day and it's not crazy expensive).

I think you could get a lovely villa within easy reach of good restaurants in most places in Greece. The joy of Greece is that the food is consistently good - in my experience. I think it’s such a shame to do AI in Greece and miss out on that.
I’d look at Crete- really exceptional food and lots to do, with beautiful beaches. We loved Chania, it’s beautiful and interesting. Then you could also do a week in eastern Crete- which I haven’t visited but have heard good things about. Or get on a boat and go to Santorini for a second week?
