Can anyone have a look at our rough itinerary and see if I’ve missed anything obvious 😅 I’m not usually the trip booker and I want to do it all myself if possible and keep the surprise 🤞🏼😊

Mid-March holiday. 2 adults & 4yo.

Fly Sat morning - land about noon and book train when we’re through passport control
TGV to DLP - staying Newport Bay for 1 night room only.
Plan to eat in the village, have a swim & get an early night/explore the hotels

Sunday - move luggage to Marvel Hotel & head to the parks grabbing a snacky breakfast en route.
Quick service food during the day if wanted.
Head to Marvel mid afternoon to get our room, chill, dinner at Downtown at 6pm, then back to the park for fireworks etc - priority access booked for this night.

Monday - breakfast in hotel, DL park day, 2pm Royal Banquet

Tuesday - breakfast in hotel, studios park day/half day, 3.30pm booking at PYM

Wednesday- breakfast at hotel, DL park, character dinner at 6pm at Plaza Gardens, maybe fireworks again depending on how people feel.

Thursday - breakfast & check out, leave luggage and do any final bits we want. TGV back to CDG for 6pm flight home.

Anything else I should book to help make the trip special? Any obvious oversights? Anything that I should definitely be packing? Anything you’d change? 😊
4yo hasn’t used a buggy for about 2 years but I’ve bought a cheap secondhand BabyJogger to take with us as I know there’s a lot of walking involved.

It’s not a huge park, we did everything in 2nights/3 days so you’ll have plenty of time. Any reason you’re staying in a different hotel the night before? I would either just have one hotel or stay somewhere else if it’s to do with expense. You can get the early train to the park and then get an early train in and use the luggage drop off service at the station.

Clearinguptheclutter · 02/01/2025 08:59

Why are you changing hotels? An awful lot of hassle packing up after 1 night

the tgv from the airport isn’t that regular, agree it’s great but have a back up plan (I think there are regular buses, there always were).

PYM was very disappointing. The buffets are ridiculously overpriced but then again everything is

Clearinguptheclutter · 02/01/2025 09:00

6 days is a really long time. We had two days and that more than enough for us. You could break it up a bit with a day in Paris

Mindymomo · 02/01/2025 09:02

Sounds a good plan, but obviously you’ve got to consider the weather, when we went it rained 2 days out of 4. Be prepared for your DC to be totally wiped out the last couple of days and you may need to be flexible with this. We stayed in Hotel New York before they turned it into Marvel, was a great location and we had a great stay.

Yesiknowdear · 02/01/2025 09:08

It seems that you're dragging it out over a lot of time?
If I were you I'd take 2 separate visits because there are lots of park closures over the first half of this year and honestly I think most people would be fed up by day 4.

Maybe you could stay at NPB one of the trips and at the marvel Hotel a different time.

...also if its on when you go Mickey the magicien is a really lovely show.

If you really do want the 6 days, before you book it may be worth pricing up packages vs paying for an annual pass and then paying for your hotel separately.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 02/01/2025 09:20

Why are you changing hotels? We did 3 nights and it was more than enough. Kids just wanted to swim on the last day.

bowsandsparkles · 02/01/2025 09:29

The TGV is not that regular and not that cheap either. We had 2 small kids and decided to just book a private transfer as we had limited time and it was only about €10 more than the train (and we almost always just take public transport on holidays rather than transfers).

You could save money on the way back by getting the tgv as you will know exactly which one you can get.

Also I think 3 nights will be long enough

prkchhgfp · 02/01/2025 09:33

Have you been to Florida OP? Only reason I ask is because you've planned it in a way a lot of people do Florida (hotel hopping etc) but Paris really isn't like that, I especially wouldn't do the hotel hopping for the sake of Newport Bay it's not that special. As people say there's a fair bit closed atm so I would personally simplify it and shorten it.

Boxachocs · 02/01/2025 09:39

I don’t think it’s too long at all. We did 4 nights at Marvel in April last year. We did 2 nights off site first so that we could explore the village, the other hotels and have a day in Paris first.
The Marvel hotel is lovely and 4 nights there will mean plenty of time to see the hotel and spend time there as well as the parks. If money is no object then your night at Newport Bay is fine, but it seems a waste when it gives park access you won’t use - staying off site that night somewhere like Dream Castle would be cheaper.
Make use the Extra Magic Hour would be my best tip, you can get a lot done in that hour when the park is quiet - not just rides but character meets too.

12purplepencils · 02/01/2025 09:42

Would be too long for me. 3 nights/4 days ample.

Newport bay is not that special, not particularly themed, and not loads cheaper than the marvel one, if it’s a price thing then sequoia lodge probably better and the pool is nicer anyway in my opinion

Myotherusernameisshy · 02/01/2025 09:42

I don't think there is enough to do for 6 days. We had 3 days with similar aged dc and it was more than enough to see everything at least once. If you haven't booked yet I would consider shortening the trip, if you have perhaps consider spending a day in Paris.
The parks are very small in France compared to Florida so I don't think you will need a pushchair.

Boxachocs · 02/01/2025 09:43

I just noticed you booked Room Only for Newport Bay - is it much cheaper without the park tickets? We paid £200 for 4 of us for a night at Dream Castle. However it was easier for us to move from there to Marvel as well drove so had our car.

Pumpkinseason3 · 02/01/2025 09:44

Thanks all for your replies 😊 Haven’t been to Florida, and have been to DLP once but about 15 years ago.

Originally we were meant to fly Sunday morning, arriving late afternoon at Disney and staying until Thursday afternoon so only having 3 full days plus a morning and evening in the parks. But EasyJet has cancelled that flight and our options were then either v.late flight from here on the Sunday getting us to our hotel in the early hours of Monday which was a nightmare option with a 4yo, or fly Saturday morning and add a day on. That’s the only reason the trip is a bit longer.

Our room type wasn’t available at Marvel to add on the sat so we were having to upgrade room to accommodate the Sat - at a cost of an extra £2300 🫠😂 so I decided we’d just stay offsite at Val D’Europe Sat night. Had a hotel booked for $140 for the night but then managed to get Newport not a huge amount more and it has the pool etc to spend the Sat in.

Hoping to be able to take it easy and take some time out to either chill at the hotel and have a swim or maybe take a half day in Paris etc so everyone we’d spoken to that had been with kids said ideally allow at least 4 days 🙈 Now you’ve all got me worried it’s far too long.

Sat we have no park tickets so it’s Sun-Wed full days in the park then we’ll be leaving Thurs lunchtime.

@12purplepencils SL was actually our plan but the pool is closed when we visit and NPB was the same price for room-only for that night.

Ah fair enough
newport bay was a lot more expensive in August. I have stayed at both and Newport bay was nicer/less tired decor (apart from the boring, deep and disappointingly cold pool!). Just not particularly “Disney”

anterenea · 02/01/2025 09:47

Hi OP, I'm French and your plan looks sound to me if and only if you are an absolute Disney fan (and so is your DP!). The only niggle I see is booking your TGV ticket last minute-there may not be any seats left, particularly if you want to be seated together in a "carré"- better to book it a couple of days before via the SNCF app. You should also make sure you are leaving after 10th March as winter half-term holidays are staggered over 5 weeks in France! Voilà hope this helps ;)

@Boxachocs DLP quoted us an additional £2300 to add the Sat with park tickets at Marvel 🫠 issue with room type not being available so having to upgrade the whole stay or change room anyway.

1 night at NPB with park tickets was going to be up over £800. But we got room only for $300. Was going to be half that to stay offsite for the night anyway so we just decided to go for it 🤷🏻‍♀️

@anterenea Thank you 😊 this was what I was a bit nervous about but everyone has said to book once through passport control as sometimes it can take hours to get through and tickets are non-transferable 🙈

I don’t want to use car or coach transfer as I don’t want to have to travel with DSs car seat and personally I wouldn’t feel comfortable using a seat provided by a transfer company.

Had seen about the holidays - we have park tickets 9-13th. It’s the only week DH and I have off together all year so no option of other dates. Fully expecting the first couple of days to be much busier 😊

Boxachocs · 02/01/2025 10:13

Fair enough. Good plan then. We are going to the Disneyland Hotel in March/April 2026 and I’ve booked a night at Santa Fe with tickets and half board to give us 2 park days and lunch at Walt’s before our stay at the DLH so we can make the most of 3 nights at the most expensive hotel I’ll have ever stayed in! I do still need to book a hotel for the night in between and just looked at booking dot com and can get Sequoia Lodge for £270 so might do that.
Current itinerary - arrive Saturday, stay at Santa Fe, afternoon in park
Sunday morning breakfast, straight into park, Walt’s for lunch. Find somewhere to stay Sunday night.
Monday check in to DLH. Have half board which at DLH includes Royal Banquet/Lumiere and character dining with no extra cost so will do all 3 of those as meals.
Leave on Thursday.
Well aware I got carried away!!!

Yes of course I am not disputing the lengthy passport control queues ;) But from experience these TGV tickets often get booked up weeks early and better to avoid the hassle of finding a last minute coach or RER transfer ;)

@Boxachocs Ahhh, sounds amazing 😍 I had a real inner battle when picking hotels and almost had us at the DLH but unfortunately that it would be purely for my own benefit and DH and DS would much prefer Marvel 🥲 So Marvel half board it is with a Royal Banquet compromise 😂 Saved me a couple of thousand pounds so I guess I can’t complain too much.
Enjoy your trip - sounds amazing 😍

@anterenea Thank you ☺️ They’re cheap enough at the moment actually so I think I’ll just hedge my bets and book one a couple/few hours after we land and hope for the best 🤣 worst comes to worst we’ll book something else on the day if need be 😅

We did everything in a couple of days off peak, they are not huge - it's the crowds that slow you down. We went into Paris to fill up our time

@mitogoshigg Thank you. We actually only have 4 full days in the park and we’re hoping to be able to have some downtime and swim etc at the hotel so hoping having that bit extra time will let us take it more at DSs pace 😊

I think with a 4 year old that sounds perfect, cramming things in with a pre schooler is never any fun.

Have a wonderful time.
