Boston with teens

Looking at flights in the sale it looks like it’s almost affordable to go to America in august whcib is on my teens wish list. Has anyone been? We would probably spend a couple of weeks in America so any itinerary tips would be great if possible

I loved Boston with younger kids years ago and would take them back as teens in a flash if I could afford it now!
If you have time I'd try to get some time at the coast too, cape cod maybe.
It will be very hot!
Itinerary wise it'll all be different now I'm sure, but the Harvard/Cambridge area is cool for teens. Mine loved the science museum and I did too so I'd imagine teens might still like it?
We also did a river tour

We did Boston this year. It was good. There's not masses to do but enough for a few days. We didn't do Fenway or Harvard but I'm sure teens would enjoy these.

We stayed in Seaport and that worked well for us in terms of we were able to walk to South Boston for food at night.

We also went to Cape Cod and I would definitely recommend that. We used it as a mix of chilling and a few day trips.

We did Boston with DD, then 16. We stayed for 4 days.

We loved it, did a day Salem and could have done more. It's very walkable, very green and lots to discover.

Saying that, we are history nerds and relished in all 17th century buildings, cemetries, stories and so on.

We then hired a car and drove down the coast, Cape Cod and some days in Newport/RI.

We went a few years ago - in August. It was absolutely boiling hot. I was never so glad to get home!
I then went myself last year in late October - far more pleasant.

It's boiling hot, and it's hurricane season.

There's a reason why it's affordable in August!

I’ve been three times in August and never found it too hot (although Washington DC further south was sweltering!) nor had hurricanes.

There’s not loads to do in Boston but it’s good for a few days. Do the self guided Freedom Trail to get your bearings and then follow up or spend time on places that take your fancy.

Pop across the river to Cambridge and check out Harvard and MIT.

Definitely head to Cape Cod. We personally love around Chatham and Orleans and always head up to Provincetown (P-town) - the gay capital of the East Coast and with a fun atmosphere and beautiful too.

If interested in history, and driving to the Cape, call in at the Plimoth Patuxet Museums. Plimoth is where the Pilgrims landed and the museum discusses both their story and the local Indigenous people. I haven’t been back since my first visit 15 years ago but it was really interesting then.

Oh yes I liked the Plymouth museum too
It was hot, but bearable

We did a fortnight splitting it between NY, picked up a car when we left, drove to Cape Cod then dropped the car off in Boston. Children were about 17 and 15 really enjoyed it.
