Ideas for a pre-new baby holiday with a three year old

So we're hoping to welcome a new arrival next summer and would like to have a holiday, just the three of us before and make some memories before life changes.

I want it to be fun for the three year old and relaxing/enjoyable for us. Needs to be March/ April really as much beyond that and I'll be quite pregnant.

We've done Centre Parcs before and other UK holidays. The Centre Parcs ones have always been good, holiday cottages in the UK a bit hit and miss depending on weather. Would like to try abroad as I'm sure we'll be UK-based for a while post-baby.

I was thinking Canaries but wondering if it would be warm enough for swimming that time of year? Also a touch worried about 4+ hours as my rambunctious toddlers first flight.

Another idea is northern Spain. Short flight, amazing food, we've both always wanted to visit and heard it can be good for kids, but perhaps it's more of a adult short break than a kids holiday.

Also considering another Euro Camp/Centre Parcs but in Europe. Or Berlin as we've both spent a lot of time there, have family there who it would be lovely to see, know there is great stuff to do with kids - although the weather isn't much better than the UK.

Would really welcome ideas from wise mumsnetters! TIA xx

Canaries have pretty much the same weather year round so that’s a safe bet if you want sunny and warm, but not too hot.

I’m currently looking for pretty much the same holiday, minus me being pregnant, but due to work schedules we are limited to March or early April and options are limited. Probably going to go to the Canaries.

We did Lanzarote when mine was 10 months, he’s now going to be 3 in May, and I actually think the flight will be easier this time. He’s easier to pacify with some Paw Patrol and can play better too, whilst at 10mo and also 18mo on a different trip was HARD WORK.

Would you be ok with sitting in a plane for 4 hours?

You need travel insurance to cover the pregnancy, birth and SBCU costs.

We did a baby moon in southern France, tbh, it sounded nicer than it was but we had bad weather and DH got food poisoning, so that didn't help.

I must admit, I would stay local in a nice lodge or similar.
