Feb break with 2 kids

We are thinking of going away during Feb half term with our 2 kids, 4 (almost 5) and 12 months.

I’m keen to take my eldest to Disney, then drive to see friends, but it’s so expensive for a few days!

anyone been recently and is it worth it? Any other recommendations for a short break that’ll work for a 4 year old and a baby?

I went 30 years ago!

I'd wait until they are both old enough to enjoy Disney.

Id probably book a few nights somewhere like Lanzarote. It's a shortish flight and there's no time difference. It will be warm enough to pootle about on the beach without being hot

Landal Het Vennebos is like Center Parcs but loads cheaper.

I’m worried that by the time the youngest is old enough, our eldest will be over it!

Disney with a 4 year old and 12 month old sounds very stressful and not at all enjoyable for anyone. When I was there I saw so many over tired over stimulated little kids just screaming the place down. They can’t go on much and just looked like it was a trip so the parents could say they’ve been to Disney rather than for the kids themselves.

I took mine at 14 and 11. It was a great age. They had loads of stamina and could go on everything and wanted to do the same things I did. I probably wouldn’t bother taking a child under 6 or 7 unless you plan to go multiple times throughout their childhood.

I always think a U.K. caravan break can’t be beaten for little ones. No travel stress and at your kids age they genuinely enjoy it as much (probably more) as a holiday abroad. If you want to go abroad I’d do one of the centre parks type places in Germany or the Netherlands or a family friendly hotel in the canaries (though that also probably won’t be very relaxing with a 12 month old).

I took mine to Disney at 10 & 11, great age as they could go on most rides, managed all the walking, understood we couldn't do everything. I'd wait til yours are a little older.

I've just booked Lanzarote for Feb half term

Interesting, thanks for the replies. I went when I was 3 and still remember it fondly, so felt that it was a good age, but maybe not anymore with all the rides!

He has only been abroad twice and that’s to the same place in Spain to see family, so I’d like to take him somewhere exciting just for him really.
