Disneyland Paris

Hello, we are planning a trip to Paris but would also like to go to Disneyland while we are there.

  • is one day enough in the park?
  • is it easy enough to travel from central Paris to Disneyland and back?

Thanks!

Easy enough on the metro, personally don’t think one day is enough, especially if it’s busy, you’d need to have a good look at what you want to do and plan it accordingly, remember there are two parts to the park though you can specify which you want to visit if just one day

There are two parks. One day isn’t enough but if that’s all you have then pre plan what you would like to do and hit those spots first.

Personally if it’s your first time I would say 3-4 days. One day for each park and half a day to cover stuff you missed or 2 days each park ideally.

One day isn't enough, 2-3 days is the minimum. If you're doing Studios too then 3-4 days is necessary. If you're going off peak and staying in a Disney hotel to take advantage of early entry then you'd have a better chance of doing the "highlights" in one day though.

Travel between the city and the park is easy.

very easy to get to Disney from central Paris - direct RER from les halles.
one day at Disney would be ok for a whistle stop visit - ie get a flavour for it, go on some rides etc but you wouldn’t see everything eg light show, parades, go on all rides.
i did one night / 2 days and this was enough for us. One day only might have seemed rushed.
depends if you are planning to go again / already been to American Disney / planning to go to American Disney / how much your kids like Disney / rides.

Thanks all. I don't feel the need to do everything but it sounds like 2 days will be needed anyway. Perhaps 1 day per park.

DC aren't mad on Disney but DS is mad on Marvel and they both really want to go to experience it.

If travel to and from the park is easy then that would save money potentially as we could stay in central Paris for 4 nights and do the city in 2 days as well.

The "movies" park is much smaller than the main one. You shouldn't need a whole day in the smaller one

Maybe like 1 day and 3 hours in big park, remaining 6 in second. That kind of thing..

How old are the children?

Trainstrike · 27/12/2024 21:03

The Marvel rides are in the Studios though so they may enjoy them more than Disneyland.

DD will be 9 and DS will be 7. DS doesn't like big rides at all but DD does.

I'm not a fan of big rides or Disney but it was really lovely there. We had a great time and there's loads of smaller rides that are fun and interactive. The park is stunning too.

Windcatcger · 28/12/2024 08:42

I would say 2 days should be enough, if you can get it cheap I would look at one night in the marvel hotel for the early access / perks. It’s super close to the entrances.

SprigatitoYouAndIKnow · 28/12/2024 08:43

One thing about staying there is that it gets quieter after dinner, so you can get on more rides. I do think it can take as long as you have though. My niece was very happy with one day as she got to meet a princess, whereas I felt that 3 nights weren't enough.

I would recommend the star wars 3d simulator ride, it was all of our favourite. Only dp is into star wars and the kids hate roller coasters and we all loved it.

There's only 2 marvel "rides" - the rest will be themed or character experiences, I think they have spider man jumping around the roof tops, that kind 🤕 f thing.

The avengers one is the old rock and rollercoaster... Huge acceleration, fast,.dark and loops. 1.2m minimum height.
And then theres a spider man "web adventure" which is like a digital shooting gallery.

There's absolutely tons of kids rides, but they're more in the main park. The DS might like the slinky ride. But crushes coaster, probably not

We spent 4 days there but we bought fast passes for one of the days which were great. The most we queued was for 10 minutes for one ride but for most we just walked on (this was in school holidays). It meant we got all the big rides done in one day and spent the rest of the time focused on the things they wanted to do again and shows.

TwoLeggedGrooveMachine · 28/12/2024 10:04

We found two days was enough but my kids aren’t bothered about parades and character meets. They mainly just like the rides. We stayed near Disney and got the RER train in to central Paris for two days. I think it was about 45 minutes each way. Disney days were longer than Paris days so did us it made sense to stay near Disneyland.

EcoCustard · 28/12/2024 10:20

We only did 1 day at Disneyland. Only went in the Disney park not the studio. It was busy at half term, managed most rides except Hook. We fast passed a few rides to ease queuing times. We saw one Halloween parade in the afternoon & the light show at night. We stopped for food & snacks as it was a very long day. We arrived at opening & left at closing, exhausted. We drove as we stayed at a Eurocamp. Kids were 9,8,7 & 5, Thunder Mountain & cars were the youngest’s favourites. Star Wars & Thunder Mountain for the older two. We did have a day off between Paris & Disney as we were very tired.
