TUI Blue Aura Ibiza

Anyone been?

I've booked for August with DC who will be 11 by then. Absolutely loves the water and will want to be in the pool all day.

Looked at reviews online and they seem pretty good, trip advisor had over 2000 reviews and only 50 bad ones.

Just wondering if anyone has been with similar aged children recently?

This is our first abroad holiday just the two of us, we've done Butlins the last 2 years which they loved but I feel the need for some sunshine this time and can finally afford to do it!

We went this summer. It's a lovely hotel. Pools are smaller than the other Tui Blues we have done. The local beach is really beautiful and a sunset swim is a must. Ibiza itself is just brilliant. Such a chilled almost hippy vibe. Do go to Ibiza old town which is brilliant fun. Food is decent in the hotel too. Much smaller than flagship Tropical which will be hard to beat. Waterpark is a fun addition at Aura too.

I would never go on holiday with TUI. So many people I know have had holidays changed (hotel downgraded / flight changed) at the last minute when it's too late for you to do anything. TUI don't care - they just take your money.

They delete negative reviews on trip advisor so it's not really representative. Google the hotel and TUI and reviews and see what you find.

How do they delete negative reviews on trip advisor. That’s not allowed surely?

@AmazingGraze Look at the Facebook group TUI Customer Service Holiday Complaints and see for yourself.

OP - if you do a search for this resort in that group you will see some feedback.

It's just my opinion. You and OP can choose to ignore.

We have stayed in the TUI blue Cala tarida on Ibiza. Loved it. My daughter was 10 at the time
Highly recommend TUI

Been on several family holidays with Tui and had a fantastic time. They’re a holiday company with their own airline but also use other airlines too. You always get people with unrealistic expectations or just want to find something to complain about if you look. It’s a package holiday, if you want bespoke luxury look elsewhere. You’ll have a great time.

We have stayed there. If you love Butlins you will love Aura. Food isnt amazing (pizza, pasta etc) but there are lots of great places nearby eg Tapas (actual name).
The teppanyaki that is included is fun for the kids too.
There is a water park next door and beautiful beach a short walk away. Great sunsets (take the kids to Kumharas for live music one evening).
Have a great holiday.

As for TUI any operator that size will have issues. We have used them for bucket and spade type holidays and have had no issues, its not meant to be Scott Dunn!

Ask me about BA though and Ill never shut
up!

There's lots of different brands within Tui. Tui Blue is suited to families and in the 3 we have done so far, the food quality has been excellent. I'd be amazed if anything in the brand surpassed Tropical in terms of quality and variety. Aura was much more limited.

LadyGAgain · 27/12/2024 09:33

I also wouldn't liken it to Butlins though I've enjoyed many a jaunt there too!

Elfie23 · 27/12/2024 10:07

Thanks for all the comments so far!! Sounds pretty positive and I'll check out the Facebook page too!

We don't have massively high requirements for room and food to be honest, at Butlins we've shared a tiny 1 bedroom room only definitely not luxury but it's only used as a place to shower and sleep really as was out all day doing things! Same for the food too, DC is more than happy with beige/ junk / ice cream - just tell me there's cocktails!?

What I'm after really is a good pool, evening entertainment (daytime too is a plus) and a safe place to stay as it's just us.

Would love to do the sunset one evening - was this arranged by the hotel or something you just did yourself?

Tui is a huge company and you are likely to get a mixture of reviews as you would with any large company - we always travel with them; went with them to Tui Magic Life Ibiza last year and had an amazing time. Ds and I have disabilities and their special assistance is brilliant, much better than any other rival company.

I have heard only positive things about Aura on the many travel groups I’m in. There are several vlogs about it on you tube too which are worth watching. We were torn between Aura and Magic Life and went with the latter because Ds has autism and that side of the island seemed quieter for him but they’re both well loved resorts. We did end up eating out a fair few times as the buffet became boring but I think that’s fair to say of most all inclusives unless you’re paying IKOS type money.

We’ve been on many holidays with Tui and we did have one slightly negative experience (out of the many we’ve had) and left a negative review. It’s still there now, a couple of years on. So this just isn’t true.

I’ve had a lot of holidays with them too and all have been successful. I have left some negative reviews at times and they weren’t deleted. Just pointing out issues with the hotel etc .

We hate package type holidays but happened to stay at a Tui Blue in Lanzarote for a few days and really liked it. We weren't AI but they had a restaurant on site that we ate at a few times and really enjoyed. I don't know about the Ibiza one specifically but I think Tui Blue are great for a family holiday. I'd certainly stay in the one we went to again.
