Having no luck finding two adjoining bedrooms for Paris stay at reasonable price

Budget is about 600 pounds for 4 of us to stay in Paris in May. Have spent ages looking and scrolling and can't find anything to fit the bill. Looking for hotel or apartment that has adjoining rooms for adults and kids (one not ours so giving them privacy is important) any wisdom and suggestions would be gratefully received 👍 thanks Ps would prefer not to air b and b unless we get desperate

Hotel B55 in the 13th has adjoining rooms

CMOTDibbler · 26/12/2024 22:30

Ibis Styles in La Defense has adjoining rooms and a 10 minute walk to the metro was very reasonable when I stayed there in September. Nice safe area

warmbath · 27/12/2024 09:10

Thanks both, will check both of these out. Problem seems to be that I haven't been able to select an adjoining room option when I have found other places, and speak limited French so can't ring them up to confirm. Wonder whether I need to go via a travel agent so they can help me

You might find the hotel staff to have better English than your French and they’ll be able to deal with your booking in the phone. It’s worth a try.

Microgal · 27/12/2024 09:14

I booked a hotel in Paris and I emailed them in English and they responded in English too. They may speak English on the phone too especially if you great in French and ask if they speak English in French also

AutismTimesTwo · 27/12/2024 09:16

Hotel villa des artistes in the 6th has adjoining rooms.

No, you usually can't select adjoining rooms on hotel websites, but if you email hotels individually (in English is fine) they will be able to book specific rooms for you.

I also stayed in Hotel Taylor in the 9th and Hotel Max in the 14th and specified next door rooms as they did not have adjoining.

We stayed here earlier this year: https://www.hotelmigny.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAvbm7BhC5ARIsAFjwNHtm_oEN6XRih5D6UufPmMERfYO0glmsyxaT3q_IQgsfpHRynserf-waAliIEALw_wcB

We had one room for us plus DDs (aged 15 and 12 at the time) but their bunk beds were sort of round a corner so they had what felt like a separate area. We had a normal double bed. It was ideal for us and very affordable for Paris prices. There wasn't a lot of space in the room but we prefer to save on the accomodation and spend on food, activities etc!

Absolutely this.

'Bonjour. Parlez-vous anglais, s'il vous plaît? Oui? Ah, merci! I'm coming to Paris...'

I can't see a photo of our room on their website (the quadruple room photos seem to be fours beds in one bug space, like premier inn family rooms), but it was right at the top of the building and had bunk beds, so you could potentially request that.

niadainud · 27/12/2024 09:23

£600 for how many nights?

hopsalong · 27/12/2024 09:26

What is the objection to Airbnb? Personally I think it's miles bigger for this kind of situation with kids. Eg this apartment is nice: www.airbnb.com/l/kUC4qZcP.

Just bear in mind that just because you request adjoining rooms you can't usually book them. Many times when I've requested them when travelling with our teens, on arrival we're actually on the same floor etc. it's usually a request not a guarantee. It seems lots of rooms are allocated on arrival.

This does look nice. We have done lots of air b and bs before and have had some owners cancel just before we are due to stay. We are taking my DD and her friend (both 15) so would really like to have no last minute surprises but it could be a problem if we can't guarantee adjoining rooms as suggested by others above

This looks lovely but we have DD and her friend with us, so think it might be better that we have 2 separate rooms to give them (and us) their privacy....

The air b and b is booked up for our dates, shame, it has great reviews, thanks for the tip

It might not be what you want but we are staying at the Sandaya campsite Maisons lafitte at Easter. Its a 15 min train ride into central Paris I think. We sre staying in a 'cottage on the Seine' which is a holiday lodge type thing, but we have stayed at a few Sandaya's and the accomodation is nice.

Catshit · 27/12/2024 10:16

Try the hotel NH chain.
one very near gdn

lile a holiday inn. Cheap tho

Catshit · 27/12/2024 10:17

At that age - do you really need adjoining?
They’d not get that on school trips

Catshit · 27/12/2024 10:20

IIRC this hotel had card access only into lifts and corridors.
you just don’t need adjoining if they’re in together

JC03745 · 27/12/2024 10:21

Would a 2 bed apartment not be an option?

I wouldn't be too bothered if it was my own kids but it is DD and her friend so feel responsible for the safety of the friend more so as it's someone else's child
