Hello! My husband and I are looking to go on a ski trip (we are beginners) and are having a tough time choosing a hotel

We found two gorgeous ones which also have spa 🧖‍♀️ facilities which we wanted

Which would you go for? I've included the instagrams too

I've skiied for years all over, but neither of those specific resorts or hotels.

I'd look at reviews and tips on tripadvisor for each hotel.
-Check how close the ski school is, if having lessons, you don't want to be carting your equipment miles from the hotels.
-Check how close shops/ski hire etc is from the hotel

This site can also help with general resort info on each one, which might help www.skiclub.co.uk/membership/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA6t-6BhA3EiwAltRFGIZ000ElxZnsp3-g882jBHnpIH7gulqDbt9WF6HAMjq0E9V4BVcmoRoC9NIQAvD_BwE

As beginners you want to be close as possible the skischool meeting point and nursery slopes or have a bus to drop and collect you, It is no good being close to a lift if that is not relevant to accessing slopes you can use, When are you planning to go as daylight hours may be short in Norway and the temperature colder. Beginners tend to stand around a lot so can get chilly.

Great advice so far!

Both have amazing reviews of the hotel and the local skiing

Dolomites hotel is a free hotel shuttle to the ski school with sunlight 8am - 5pm

Norway hotel is located at the ski school/slope with sunlight 9 - 3.30pm

As adult beginners you will be on the very basic slopes for the first few days, maybe even the whole week if you are not especially sporty. More experienced skiers like it if they can step out of the ski room straight on to the snow and just ski down to the first lift, but you don't need that. So don't worry too much about the precise location.

Prepare to be exhausted and frustrated, and to fall over a lot, because it's such an unnatural set of movements for most people. It is so hard not to lean back as you gather speed, and to keep the weight on the downhill ski in a curve (when the "downhill" ski changes halfway through). I was almost in tears after a couple of days, as it reminded me of all my childhood late development issues (tying shoelaces, learning to ride a bike, etc) But when it clicks it's a great feeling. I'm a bit too old to enjoy it now, but over a few years I managed to get to the point where I could do a black run if necessary without freezing with fear,

Consider a visit to a ski centre as you are both beginners.

What's the reason for picking the Norwegian resort? You would be better going to a Skistar resort such as Sälen in Sweden, or if you must go to Norway. Trysil. Both are easily accessible via Scandinavian Mountain Airport (direct and transfer via ARN, CPH, OSL). And both are suitable for beginners but both are expensive, as is the case for Scandinavia as a whole.

The Dolomites are gorgeous and that hotel looks stunning. Not that I've ever stayed anywhere that nice as we ski a couple of times a year so keep it cheap and cheerful. I've never been to Norway but the lack of daylight would put me off. Also litaly likely to be much better value on mountain for food and drink.
