Hi there I too wanted to do this perhaps this year but my friend has just come back and really put me off. She stayed in Sante Fe and said the hotel was shabby - they had scaffolding outside their room and it was very nosiy. Nothing in the room for the kids - not sie info or even a kiddie goody bag just a badge each. The food outlets were totally disgusting - all chips, burgers and ribs. With a 3 year old they had to wait average 1hour for each ride and most of the French que jumped, and some of the rides were very tired looking. They was shouted at when they let their 3 yr old pee in a gutter when they were queing as they had been inthe que for 40 mins and he was desparate...the staff were miserable and not very friendly.

She also said when the characters came out they were only around for a little while and worse of all....she said the kids fell to sleep in their buggy and she wanted to get a bottle of wine sit outside and chill whilst they ere having gtheir nap - they were told they had to order 2 main course meals to get the bottle of wine and had to sit inside.

I think I will save up for Florida - Im sure the yanks will do a better job

We've been many times and loved it, although i'm sure florida will be loads better. Fab website is www.disboards.com, there are loads of forums and you have to scroll down a bit to get the the paris section. we've stayed at the top 5 disney hotels and they've ranged from 'ok' to 'lovely' however we've not been for 2 years and they were starting to look a little 'tired' then. The best hotels are the holiday inn, explorers etc, they are newer and cheaper. they do not have 'disney theming' but are still themed towards children. they are an extra 10 mins at most on free shuttle bus. I'm ashamed to say we've never done Paris itself so wouldnt like to say whether its better to stay at disney or in paris, depends on where you think you might spend most time

Coming into this late but my recommendation is that you will spend just as much in Paris as you will in Florida. The hotels we found at Paris were really quite run down and (this may not bother you) their smoking laws mean that it is acceptable to smoke just about anywhere with no restrictions - that means bars, restaurants, hotel lobby etc.

If you can make the stretch do Florida. If it is Paris the city is about 1 hour by train from Disney.

The french are particularly rude too and the poster above has got it spot on with the food. Basically because ED is in the middle of nowhere, they've got you whereas in Florida there is so much competition everything is spot on.

BTW the train station for Paris is right at the main gate to ED and it is easy to get tickets at the station.

We have just got back from staying at seuqurial which was fine for accomodation, mid range, within walkting distance from the parks, and they ahd characters there all the time, morn & night.

Was good , DS 2 nearly & perfect for him. Went to florida one before had kids and great but a long way with little ones.

Food very expensive bt probably no more than US.

We will got back to floriada one day but will take DS back to euro whilst he is little as perfect for a few days.

I am sure that going to Florida is not much more than going to Paris. This will be our third year in Florida (with children) mine are 11 next month and 8.

Food is cheap in the US and the dollar is still good.

I would certainly price up both and if you can make that leap then do it.

I've stayed in the Paris disney hotels a couple of times but they are really not my thing.

We found a chateau about half an hour away near Senlis which had that shabby chicness about it. Suited DH and I much better than that corporate disney stuff.

Having said that DL Paris I found to be fantastic. Never been to florida tho so hard to compare.
