Spring EU all inclusive SEN children single mum

Hey. First time posting. Im a single mum with 2 boys. One x 9 year old with ADHD/ASD/PDA and one x 6 year old with quite possible ASD/add.

My family have very kindly offered to take us abroad this spring, something I never would have afforded. It'll be our first trip abroad and no idea how to find something.

Can anyone help with advice/recommendations... Here what I know we need and want...

  1. Somewhere warm 20-25 degrees
  2. Feb-may time
  3. All inclusive may make things simpler?!
  4. Separate kids pool (kids are incredibly loud and don't want to be worrying re disturbing lone adults)
  5. Near a beach
  6. Some activities- quieter low stim activities for after a day on the go like films/cinema would be fab.
  7. Up to 4 hour flight
  8. Somewhere inclusive to special needs.
  9. Somewhere with some culture and walks for my parents (they are not all inclusive resort people)
10. Somewhere that feels safe and no chance of 1 child leggings it off too far whilst I'm watching the other.

Thanks soooo much!!!!

Outside of 2nd half of May, no where less than 4 hours will be guaranteed warm weather. Crete is lovely in May but is 4 hours. The canaries are 4 to 5 hours and will be warm enough any of those months but are great for culture.

Not sure of budget but the TUI magic life hotels fit most of your brief, they have 6 scattered across Europe but model is the same. Big advantage is there's multiple restaurants so your parents at least can get the illusion that they aren't at an ai. Choose one on the bus route so they can get out easily. Fuerteventura isn't known for culture but the hotel has a beautiful beach alongside ideal for swimming, multiple pools including kids splash area and heated activity pool which they can enjoy without you worrying about adults as there's a couple of adult only pools. When I went there was 3 entertainment areas each evening, with a show/film type option, an all ages option including mini disco each day which became adults only at 9pm then a quieter bar with a singer or musician each evening, board games etc.

Will you be going in the school holidays or taking them out of school (no judgement but it will affect the cost significantly and term time might be a preference due to your DCs special needs?).

Do your parents have a particular budget and if you are going in the school holidays, are they aware how expensive this will be? Do you and your DC have passports and if not, has this been budgeted for either by you or them?

What would your DC and parents expectations be around food? You say you're looking for AI 'to make it simpler' but unless you pay a lot it's likely to be repetitive mediocre buffet food and a not particularly calm atmosphere.

I'm wondering if a private villa with a heated pool somewhere centrally located re supermarket, beach and restaurants will be more suitable. Then you'll have the space and facilities for the DC to be themselves and play in the pool and there will likely be local facilities like play parks and places your parents can go walking or get the bus elsewhere.

You'll be able to eat out or get easy food from the supermarket or takeaways, whatever you feel like. I know people always say 'its the same work in a different location' but as long as you get a dishwasher, share the food preparation load between all the adults and don't do a load of unnecessary cleaning and tidying it's really not like being at home (on these type of holidays we spend all our time outside on the terrace and the main living area just becomes a dumping ground but it doesn't matter because we don't otherwise use the space).

Edited to add in 'the spring' the Canaries is probably where you want to be looking. Lanzarote probably has the most of cultural interest (volcano park, vineyards, caves, Cesar Manrique arty stuff). Inland in Gran Canaria and Tenerife are good for hiking and visiting more traditional villages and small towns.
