UK holiday

Looking for suggestions for a UK holiday 2025. Son age 11, two daughters aged 9 and 4. My son wanted to go abroad but I'm afraid of flying.

We've been to Butlins Minehead (3 times), Isle Of Wight, and Trecco Bay Parkdean. They loved all three, but I think they want something similar to Butlins again.

Haven Hafan Y Mor in Wales and Warmwell in Dorset are my favourites

Is the fear of flying the only thing holding you back? If so, you could look at the ferry to France, Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Northern Ireland depending on which port is closest to you. Options from Southampton, Hull, West Scotland, Holyhead and Liverpool. The eurocamps in France are great and most are set up with everything you need to just arrive and be good to go. Same with centre parcs, much cheaper in France than our UK version.

You can also do short cruises. The cliché is that they're for old people but that's so outdated, there are some amazing family friendly ships with a tonne of stuff for kids to do. Plus all their food is included in the fare so cuts down on spending money.

There's also the Eurostar to Paris and Brussels which is pretty cool.

If you're totally set on it being a UK holiday then I'm a fan of a Haven site, it just depends on the time of year. Centre Parcs is good for kids but can be really pricey in school holidays.

@Leanne994 just take the train. maybe to a centreparcs equivalent in europe? Is your oldest learning a language such as French at school?

Agree with PP, take the ferry or Eurotunnel to Europe. European center parcs can be a lot cheaper than UK (if European school dates dont clash with ours, which I think they do a bit more next year unfortunately). Also look at Eurocamp and Landal sites. Somewhere like Duinrell or Domaine des Ormes, they have loads to do on site like kids clubs, evening entertainment/mini disco, pools with slides, pony riding, high ropes etc. You can use Tesco clubcard points if you have them to reduce cost of train/ferry and Eurocamp.
