Hello

We are being taken on a family holiday to manorbier in Wales, April next year. We will have our 2 small children with us, staying in an air BnB - we will all be driving so exploring nearby places isnt an issue, ive seen briefly that there's a lovely castle and some beaches, has anyone visited here? Any advice or recommendations? We enjoy long walks, visiting markets, towns, will maybe eat out twice or something.

My first time to Wales I'm looking forward to it

Thanks in advance for any information

Manorbier is lovely - great rock looking for the kids. The castle is great. There is not really much else to do there but lots around.

Bosherston Lilly ponds is a great walk and has a lovely beach to go on.
A trip to Tenby (at least once)
Folly Farm is a fabulous day out for kids and adults
Manor Wildlife Park is great - feeding the wallabies is good fun

It's a lovely area with lots of walks

@Pieceofpurplesky thank you so much for this! Really helpful, Bosherston Lilly ponds looks beautiful can't wait to visit there, I've used what you put to add to a little itinery, a day out just for kids sounds ideal so that farm sounds great, we have the cars so driving out 45 mins or so to different places shouldn't be an issue

Thanks again

Pembroke castle.

The Old Point House in Angle for food.

Barafundle and Freshwater West are good beaches to explore.

Narberth is a pretty market town.

Have fun OP. We got married at Manorbier castle. It’s a cracker.

I know Manorbier and the area pretty well. You will have a great time.

The castle is privately owned and delightfully quirky. There may be low key family activities on over the Easter holidays. Manorbier has a lovely coast path to walk if the dc are old enough, a pub and a tea room. There is also a playground at the top of the road, near the air base, and a tea room at the garden centre.

Park at Bosheston and walk down to Broadhaven South beach through the lily ponds. The whole lily ponds and woods area in the Stackpole Estate is lovely for family walking as flatish and no cliff edges. There is a NT cafe at Stackpole Quay and you can park there and walk to Barafundle beach (that is coast path but mostly not near the edge). Also parking and woods at Stackpole Court. There is also a cafe at the Stackpole walled garden. The NT may well be running some children's activities over the holidays too. Check the website - the whole estate is lovely and full of adventure for children.

Tenby is good fun for children.

Freshwater East is a lovely flat sandy beach for little ones, and Freshwater West is gorgeous and surfy - it's the beach where Dobby's house was in Harry Potter - there is a little shrine to Dobby in the dunes.
Barafundle Bay is also beautiful and Manorbier itself is lovely. If you want to eat out there make sure you book.
If you have a wet day, Bluestone is about half away and is a bit like Center parcs - it has a big swimming pool with rapids and slides that you used to be able to book for a day without staying there.
It's a beautiful part of the world - enjoy!
