You could DIY - choose flights, accomodation and transfers separately. Very easy to do in Europe.

You could also use an independent travel agent who could talk through your requirements and budget and book through a specialist.

You could try easyjet holidays, British airways holidays, expedia, on the beach if you are looking for your big standard package.

The past few years we've gone with easyJet holidays. Have been very impressed!!!! It is no frills eg don't have a rep at the resort, but we don't care about that.

If it's Europe, just book your flights and hotels separately online. You just need to get a taxi from the airport to hotel, and you're sorted.

Notimeforaname · 20/10/2024 16:41

Booking separately usually always comes up cheaper. Book flight directly with airline and look on booking.com for accommodation

Thanks for your replies. I’m going to have a look at easy jet now.

We used to book everything separately, but lost a lot of money in 2020.
If one element of the holiday is cancelled, there's a risk that other parts will not be refunded.
I think it's worth the small additional cost to book with a company covered by package holiday regulations.

Sure, but most people just get travel insurance.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 20/10/2024 19:55

Definitely you need travel insurance and you need to declare any conditions

But I always book separately. Also with Uber now you can give your flight details and they're waiting for you at the airport.

British Airways Holidays

Hoppinggreen · 20/10/2024 19:58

We mostly DIY but if we do want a package we use a small independent Agent who mostly uses Tui or Jet2

Don't trust your travel insurance to cover every element. But yes do take out TI at the time of booking.

I would never use trip advisor/holiday lettings again. they recently cancelled both our villas because they were changing the way the company operated....or some such excuse. luckily i've managed to book directly with the owners but it caused loads of stress

its not put me off doing it DIY though as its the only bad experience i've had so far...touch wood

boymum1989 · 22/10/2024 10:24

I think it's mostly been answered now, but just to put my two pence in -

DIY is a good option if you find a package you like on Jet2, you can compare the price building it yourself and play around with flight prices and board at your chosen hotel to find what's right for you.

You get a wider range of hotels if you look into doing it yourself BUT just to say that if you are booking EasyJet flights specifically, it really is worth looking at their holiday packages as you can get some really good deals e.g. luggage included and a good discount on the hotel.
