Sorrento area in October - what to do with tweens

We're off to Sorrento for half term for a week. Bit of an impulse holiday book and wondering what recommendations there are for tween/early teen DC to do. Obviously we'll be sightseeing etc in the area/ the obvious but anything unique for them to get excited about would be great. Thank you

Pompeii, Herculaneum, Positano and Amalfi are must see. Ravello is stunning as is the drive to get there along the coast.

Boat trip to Capri, it’s a lovely island to visit. Great shopping, food and a beautiful walk up to Tiberius‘ villa on the highest part of the island. You can either get the funicular or a donkey ride from the boat landing to the main town.

Walk out to the Bagni Regina Giovanna. It is a great swimming spot.

We went last year Oct half term with teens and tweens. A day in Naples, one in Pompeii, one in Herculaneum, supposed to do Vesuvius but there was a storm so we couldn't. Plus a bit of just pottering and swimming.

And obviously trying as many gelato places as possible.

Amalfi, Capri, Positano, Pompeii and Naples (although I hated Naples) easy to get to the train, and not expensive from Sorrento.

Pizza/pasta cooking class, underground tour of Roman theatre in Herculaneum, evening in Pompeii(sometimes there are concerts), bus to small cove on the peninsula outside Sorrento (Capo di Sorrento) with Roman villa ruins. We were non plussed by Capri(hassle to get there, crowded).

Underground tour and the archeological museum in Naples are fab.

Thanks they all sound great options. Looks like it might not be as summer time either in a good way. I was a bit concerned it might be out of season but seems like that might not be a bad thing in terms of busyness

Naples was still nuts. The main touristy street was just one huge throng of people so still very busy.

Sorrento was busy too but not too bad. It was still mid 20s temp wise so the sea was still warm. Some stuff not open though in terms of sea access. In Sorrento itself you can get in the sea at the old fishing part which isn't brilliant but the rest is all private as in you have to pay the hotels who own the sea frontage to hire a deck chair etc and swim. There is a small public area but that was closed when we were there. Never quite clear if it was closed for the season or for refurb so you never know it might be open.

Ah ok. That's great. Thank you. Really helpful

The Galleria Borbonica in Naples might interest dc. Look it up! There’s plenty to see and do in Naples and easy enough to avoid crowds

Thank you. Looks great 🙂

My tween loved the trip we did up Vesuvisus. We booked a trip, got a coach up from Herculaneum. Walk a bit up the side, then you have to join guided tour.it was cloudy and didn't get any view out across the bay but you could peer over the crater side down into Vesiuvius and it was literally smoking. The guide had loads of intersting facts. Also loved trying a new pizza place and ice cream everyday and underground tunnel tour in Naples.
