We go camping several times a year in the uk. Next year we’d like to camp in France. I’ve been looking at yelloh sites and we’d like to drive. What Yelloh sites can anyone recommend that is drivable from a port that has good swimming facilities for DC and good for camping? Thank you

Yelloh Village La Roche Posay is nice. We have been there 3 times. We normally go in a mobile home, but have walked around the camping bit and they’re really nice. They have some pitches that have a little hut that has a private loo, shower and kitchen with fridge.

You can walk to La Roche Posay from the campsite - it’s a lovely town and it has a tea shop called Pink & Cosy that’s run by a really nice lady called Angela, who is the English half of the Anglo-French couple who run the campsite. They have been running it for years and a couple of years ago it joined the Yelloh chain.

The site is next to a river and you can go kayaking in it.

There’s a nice bar area and some fun/cheesy entertainment. There’s a Super U a 4-minute drive away. All in all, a perfect location. There’s also a small onsite shop with daily bread service, and a takeaway as well as a restaurant and small gym.

I really like this site. My only criticism is that I think the pool, although very clean and well-maintained, is maybe a bit small for the size of the site. It has an outdoor bit with a little section for small kids, a couple of slides and some whirlpool things you can sit in. Then there is an indoor pool, which is covered. Both of these do get a bit crowded at peak times but are really lovely first thing.

I really liked Les Peneyrals in the Dordogne.

Les Mouettes is really close to Roscoff and has a waterpark.

Brilliant thank you. Which port would you use for the Dordogne? X

We stayed at the Yelloh in Les Sables d’Olonne this summer. We had one of the larger mobile homes, but there were plenty of camping pitches. Two lovely pools, water slides, plenty of activities for the kids. Nearby beaches. Our friends drove from Calais (but there are closer ports); we TGVd it from Paris.

Camping in France for teens advice!

Hi!! Wanted to get some advice on campsites in France for next summer for a pre-uni holiday. We’re a small group of 18/17 year olds and have been wanted to go away for ages. We go camping multiple times a year in the UK so have the equipment and experience in camping ect. We’re looking for somewhere sociable, with easy travel accessibility as none of us would be able to drive. Hoping to be near a beach but also a town/city with activities for us during our stay and obviously a bit budget friendly!! Any suggestions and recommendations would be appreciated and any other travel advice on how to get there and whilst were there would be amazing. Thank you!
