Airport transfer

We are planning to travel to Turkey. My daughter will be 12 months.
Our transfer to and from the airport is included with jet2.
How do I travel with her on the coach? On my lap?
just really worried about what the safest way to travel with her is.

She will also be transitioning on to whole milk, is this readily available or is it better to keep her on formula for the trip?

I'd take a car seat

The transfer coach may very well not have seat belts.

OP, I wouldn't worry too much if you have to hold her. It's one journey of an hour or whatever. Sometimes we all have to do slightly less than optimum things.

Coach transfers are on your lap although they have belts these don't tend to be 3 point ones they are lap belts which aren't compatible with car seats (we looked and looked!)
We would hold ours with the belt over both then when he hit 2 we got a booster seat for coach transfers.

Thank you! Makes me feel better about taking her

Maybe you can use a private transfer instead of a bus. I remember airport transfer prices were very cheap in Turkey. If you want, do some price research for the place you are going to maybe it will be an easier journey for you.

id just take the risk ! We go on the bus every day with my baby in my lap or in the buggy - which is a risk but not something anyone thinks about

When I was in Thailand my kids were in tuk tuks and that’s just the way to get around I was anxious at first then just accepted it and it just became my normal while I was away

so 2 airport coach transfers if just do on my lap now without really thinking about it

if really worried just get private transfer

Saferrari · 16/01/2025 08:16

If you decide to have baby on your lap DO NOT put the seatbelt over both of you, this is the most dangerous option because in the event of a crash - or even sharp braking - your weight would be pushed forward against the seatbelt and crush baby. This would result in serious injury in and ofherwise minor crash/incident.

What would you do if you took her on a local bus? You’d hold her, so do that. No need to overthink it, coaches are much safer than a private transfer

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 29/08/2025 16:13

You can either hold her on your lap or you could book a private transfer and take a car seat.
You can get normal cow's milk in the supermarkets. It is called Taze Sut (fresh milk) or gunluk sut (daily milk).
