We have a weekend in Blackpool coming up with our DC. It's been a long long time since I've visited. Can anyone offer tips and tricks regarding visiting the tower and the pleasure beach? Both are so much more expensive then I remember! Can I get discount vouchers - on the back of a cereal boxes or soap bottles maybe? Any other helpful tips?

Thanks for replying. I saw that as an option. I think we'd only be interested in the tower and maybe the circus so I don't think that would be the most economical option. Nothing seems to include the pleasure beach.

I visited the tower a few years ago it's still good however the beach isn't as good but if you go to St Anne's it's alot better but never been to the Pleasure beach I'm sure its very good though.

Thank you for the tip. I just remember a long stretch of beach. I'll take note of your advice though.

Have fun and yes I'm pretty sure it's a long stretch but the beach area near the piers are usually really busy it's better off walking down the beach to your left until you see an area with sand dunes, that's St Anne's and its alot quieter and better in my opinion

If you have Tesco Clubcard vouchers then you can double up for Pleasure Beach tickets and I think also the Tower. I don’t think they are doing the Kelloggs boxes any more, at least they weren’t in the Summer.

The Tower eye experience is good but we also love the Tower ballroom which is pretty reasonable (I think maybe free for children) especially if you sit upstairs. Might or might not be of interest to your children, my daughter is a Strictly fan so enjoys it. We love the piers as well, and the Sandcastle (although pricey) and can while away lots of time playing the two penny slots in Coral Island and Funland. Although Pleasure Beach is quite pricey for tickets, you do get the whole day and I think it’s actually pretty good value compared to other parks. Get there early, get the App for queue times and make the most of it.
Have a great time, my children absolutely love Blackpool..

PS Not sure what the town is like at night as we are always just at the entertainment etc in our hotel but I imagine it might not be that child friendly on a weekend.

This is super helpful! Thank you.
Yes the main reason is to see the ballroom as my LO is strictly mad so it's a must! What sort of ticket do you recommend then for the tower?
Also, sounds like the PB has changed loads since I went about 15 years ago. Is it really that busy where fast passes are sold? I remember just being able to drift from ride to ride and the place being quite deserted. I think I bought a book of tickets and the rides were a different number of tickets depending on how thrilling they were. It meant you didn't have to do it all in a day and could drift in and out. I think that's how it was.... now it seems you get a day ticket and that's it. Is it literally like a theme park now with loads of people and queues?

Yes it’s just like any other theme park, you buy your ticket and that’s you in for the day, nothing else to pay except for food and any carnival games (which are always best avoided)or character photos sometimes. There are queues but it’s not quite as bad as other parks I have been to albeit we’ve been there midweek and not in the height of the school holidays etc. We haven’t had to buy a fast pass, you can buy them for some individual rides I think but the cost of that soon mounts up or can buy for the day but that’s pricey. You can download the app in advance and get an idea of ride times for any day and what time each ride opens at etc.

For the Tower, if you only want the ballroom then you can buy a ticket just for that, it’s £11,50 per adult online, I think slightly more expensive in person although I am sure when we were there they said that you could get cheaper tickets for upstairs although you can’t eat or drink up there. Can’t see that option online though, you could always try calling them to check. Children up to age 14 are free. If you want to go up to the top and see the glass floor etc then that’s a separate ticket, I think they call it the Tower Eye. There are various combos available on the Tower website including combining with Sea Life, the Dungeon etc (again I think Clubcard vouchers can be used for those if you have them).
