Seems to be only these 2 companies that do the flights I need

All I hear is bad things from EJ .

OR are they both as bad !

Thanks

BA is far more generous with cabin baggage. And I have found the flight times to be more convenient. LHR is closer for me, so if I factor that into the price it makes me choose BA. But usually EasyJet is cheaper and pretty good, and Gatwick is good. I’m usually delayed at LHR. On BA you get a little bottle of water and a very small snack; it feels less budget airline than EasyJet but I’m happy with both of them so tend to pick on price (including bags and travel to airport) and flight time convenience.

@Antsinmypantsneedtodance
Thanks...we want appartment rather than hotel ...so a bit stumped at doing it that way !

I did a holiday like this recently. Air bnb in the canaries.. EasyJet flight there and British Airways on the way home. No issues what so ever.
I think EasyJet are releasing their summer 2025 flights tomorrow, make sure you use Skyscanner for the good deals.
I managed to get a return ticket in the summer holidays for £107pp booking almost a year in advance.

Depends how long the flight is tbh, I don't see the point of paying £££ for a couple of hours flight. I'd rather spend the extra on hotels.
Anyway I've flown with easyJet a few times and always been fine.

2 hour 20 flight .

I've heard far more horror stories about cancellations with BA than Easyjet tbh.

But just make sure you've included all the luggage you need with Easyjet as the basic price might look cheap but includes only a very small bag so you might need to pay quite a bit more for extras.

But like a PP says there's nothing to stop you going out with one and back with the other especially if it gets you a better price or flight time.

Definitely the way to go, Skyscanner will give you the cheapest option.
EasyJet, Ryanaire and BA have always been fine when I've used them. I know someone who works at Gatwick who told me the only one to avoid is Whizz Air.

BA response to the Air Traffic Control outage and planned Greek Air Traffic Control strike were good imo. Prompt alternatives offered.

Daisy03 · 03/09/2024 11:00

Like a previous poster we did one way easyJet and one way BA to Tenerife this summer, staying in an airbnb, just kept checking Skyscanner for prices and booked the price and flight times that suited us best.

DecafDodger · 03/09/2024 11:09

Whoever is cheapest at any given time. As pp said, be aware of EJ hidden extras, they charge for every move.

Countrylife2002 · 03/09/2024 11:18

I veto easyJet these days after having a flight cancelled at the last minute with no alternative offered. It was changed multiple times after booking too. I flew BA this year and they were SO much better. No point paying less if your desired flight is messed around with .

Countrylife2002 · 03/09/2024 11:19

BA was more comfortable and service on board was much better.

DizzyBumble · 03/09/2024 11:31

BA

3 people I know have had Easy Jet flights cancel on the day of the flight, one occasion it was on the runway about to take off & they were travelling to a funeral! No alternative offered & no help at all

deviantfeline · 03/09/2024 11:42

I'm snobby as they come about airlines and a BA gold member so the draw of a BA flight from LHR which is our closest airport and meaning we can partake in the lounge beforehand means I tend to choose them over anyone else.

I'm quite happy to use Easyjet or Ryanair when they fly to the closest city to my destination and they are significantly cheaper and/or the flight times are better.

For a 2/3 hour flight it makes little difference who your carrier is. The carrier is last on this list versus

  • cost
-departure airport
  • arrival airport
-flight times there and back.

It's much of a muchness once on board.

CherryValley5 · 03/09/2024 11:46

BA, always! EasyJet are awful - unreliable, lots of cancellations, bad customer service and end up being much more expensive than BA due to ludicrous luggage prices and hidden extras. Last time we flew with them to Malaga I said never again. I have never seen such revolting and antisocial behaviour from other passengers and families.
