is my 10month old baby safe to go to Poland in January when it’s going to be very cold reaching the minus’s? Obviously bringing the snow suits and things essential

I know that 😂but my baby is obviously used to the weather and temperatures where we are from (wales)

I travelled with 1 year old to a ski resort: not as cold I don’t think; she was fine. I remember sitting in a cafe near the ski resort; didn’t get much of the holiday but was worried to leave 5 year old with DH alone.

There is always the possibility of getting a cold from the change of weather; also not sure you and baby will get much of the holiday, or are you visiting family?

Awwwh lovely! Thank you so much for the help. No just a holiday with a very large group of extended family for a birthday but just over thinking that it’s going to be too cold only there for three days, one of which we are travelling anyways so it’s not like we are out there long anyways:)

I went to Gdansk last December, between Christmas and New Year, it was no colder than the UK, it was about +4. May well have been colder in more inland areas of Poland. Even if it is colder than that I think baby would be fine if you have all the layers, assuming you are in a city then you are in and out of buildings all the time, cafes/ restaurants/ churches/ museums. You won't be out for 5 hours solid in the cold. If the plan is though to spend hours and hours outside say sledging/snow shoeing/doing activities in the mountains it may not be much fun for you.

It will be colder I expect but you can prepare for it.
What are your plans? If you are mainly going to be indoors, then it is less of an issue. If you are going to be walking around sightseeing, then it might be more of an issue.
The biggest challenge you might have is with the pushchair. How big are the wheels on your pushchair? Will they be able to cope with snow? The other thing to be aware of is that, in colder countries, the covers and things on the pushchairs are a lot more substantial, more like down filled sleeping bags which they tuck the baby into which your pushchair may well not have.
I think a similar thing will apply to other layers. A local child might be in the same number of layers as yours but it is what the layers are made of that matters.
It is all do-able, but just needs a bit of thought putting into it before you go. In the travel section on MN, there is a skiing board so perhaps ask on there for some more specific advice.
Also, if you're breastfeeding, think about when and how you'll do that if you're used to doing quick feeds outside.

I lived in a cold country with a baby.

I would get a really good cosy toes/footmuff for the pram. Get second hand, as warm and thick as you can.

It is honestly so much warmer for them than snowsuits, and they can just jump out when you arrive indoors (or if they are napping you can unzip it so they don’t get too hot.

Unbulky clothing for underneath the footmuff, warm but lightweight.

Comfortable warm hat that doesn’t annoy them by slipping down over their eyes. Mittens with long cuffs instead of gloves. Soft jacket that likewise doesn’t annoy them by bulging up and rubbing against their face when they are sitting in the pram - little faces can get sore easily in cold weather.

Be prepared for houses to be heated very warm, so dress in light layers that you can adjust when you get inside.

If the baby is going to play in the snow or at the park etc, bring multiple pairs of spare dry socks (you can also use socks as spare mittens)
