Booked a back to back cruise for 2026! Sailing out of fort launderdale to southamptin(before this doing Carribean on same ship) it’s only one way that I need a flight and on doing a dummy booking for next year BA and Virgin are expensive! Has anyone flown Norse airways or have any recommendations . Has anybody done this cruise!! Really looking forward to it, only a year and half to go lol

It's a pain that one way flights aren't generally much cheaper than return. Keep an eye on flight release dates, and book as soon as you can. Perhaps consider flying to another airport - Miami is an easy transfer to Fort Lauderdale, or even Orlando, to see if it helps with prices.

I think Norse Airways is a bit of a risk, to be honest. We are doing a transatlantic cruise this November, finishing in Miami, so having to fly one way back. We considered Norse Airways, but the reviews are absolutely horrendous, it doesn't seem uncommon for them to cancel a flight without telling the customer, or moving it by two days, which, when you're are catching a cruise, is not going to work, unless you are flying out a few days in advance.

In the end, we booked with BA for £320 one way, which was about £100 more than Norse, and included our luggage, which Norse didn't.

Do not use Norse, their recent reviews are really bad and they do charge for everything. Would suggest you use a full service airline like BA or virgin and fly into Miami.

BA are weird with 1 way pricing, it is often more than a return, even to another city. I would wait until closer to the time, and would actually consider an indirect business class flight. Failing that I would consider taking a Cunard over then an internal flight if you can spare another week!

We have done plenty of Caribbean cruises (perfect in winter!) but not the Atlantic crossing, that's a future trip one day. We really like Fort Lauderdale and the coastline north of there. Las Olas Boulevard in FL is a nice area to hang out pre cruise.

If it's more expensive to book one way than a return, could you book a return, and just not turn up for the return flight?

Thanks for all the replies Norse must be cheap for a reason, hopefully I can get a good price closer to the time

Scheduled flights are only sold 11.5 months out so nothing is on sale yet for 2026. That will just be travel agents or cruise company estimating what price it'll be, plus some. I'm the meantime it could be worth trying to save Avios points through an Amex Card, Nectar etc to book your own way flight when they go on sale. Even if you don't have enough for the complete ticket you can offset some of the cost.
