I have just booked flights to Levi in January. Yet to book accommodation. Any tips are great fully recieved, where to stay, good companies to book excursions with etc. It will just be myself and my daughter and won’t be hiring a car.

Can I ask are your flights direct? Where did you book?

Waterproof gloves are essential. You do not want a crying child because they made a snowball and now their gloves are wet and their hands are cold.

Touch screen thermal gloves so you can still operate your phone without taking your gloves off, plus an extra pair of waterproof ones for snow related activities.
When we went, we wore walking boots and re-waterproofed them beforehand. Make sure your boots are big enough to wear with one or two pairs of good thermal socks.
Take a power bank or two for your phone because the battery goes very quickly in the cold.

No they’ve both got a short stop so overall journey is just over 5 hours I think. I just used sky scanner

In Levi it's worth getting the cable car up to the Panorma hotel there's nice walks from the top where you can sometimes see the northern lights. When we went there was a guy at the bottom who made lovely coffee and hot chocolate on an open fire. Take marshmallows and chocolate digestives in your backpack to make s'mores on the open fires that are dotted around. I brought both my kids fleece balaclavas from amazon which were amazing especially when we did the husky ride and reindeer sleigh we all felt the cold on those.

There was also a nice Italian near the pancake restaurant which didn't amazing pizza.

Everything is expensive- we took lots of snacks to keep us going.

Dress wise we got snow suits and boots included in package and delivered to hotel but this you can hire separately as well. Underneath we all have thermals from decathlon and me and the kids wore fleece pjs from primark as the second layer

I wouldn’t hang about re accommodation if it’s Jan 25. Accommodation gets booked up months and months in advance at peak times.

Hi there. We are off to levi over the new year. What's the best to do regarding excursions please. Book before or wait till we are there. We have 3 kids, 5, and 12. Would really like to do it all if we can. It is expensive so any recommendations would be great. Will hopefully be having a day or two skiing. The little one has not done it before so will maybe do ski school . Staying in an apartment right in levi. Self catering so will find some good restaurants to eat at. Any help really appreciated. Thanks

Hand and feet warmers are a must, it was -22 at some points. The sledging is fun. If you plan to ski book an instructor now as they were fully booked when we arrived & I wanted our youngest two to have lessons.
we stayed at the crazy reindeer which was a nice enough hotel but the food was pretty dire - it's close to the slopes. There's a few FB pages on how to DIY the trip.
