I'm Approaching my 40th birthday next April, and am looking for recommendations for a short European trip lasting (about 3-4 nights). We enjoy immersing ourselves in culture through visits to museums and other cultural sites, as well as taking time to relax. Good food is also a priority for us. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Seville would be pleasant in April and there's lots to do.

Another vote for Seville, or maybe Malaga. Vienna is a nice city to visit as well.

How about Switzerland. Zurich & Basel both have fantastic art to see. You could go to the opera (if that's your thing). Beautiful scenery. And fantastic cakes & chocolate

Second Seville in April. It's probably my favourite city ever.

Rome - that’s where we went for mine.

Seville, Valencia, Malaga or Budapest

Lisbon has a lot to offer.

In April Madrid could be worth considering as well. Lots of things to see & do.

I have an April Birthday. I've always wanted to see the tulip festival near Amsterdam.

I was honestly so blown away by the food in Amsterdam, I don’t know why I wasn’t expecting anything much but everything we ate was incredible. Loads to see, accessible on foot, took in some museums and soaked up the culture. Only thing was that walking around wasn’t that relaxing due to the danger of being killed by bikes - but it was fun!

Seville or Lisbon

Rome. Amazing city with lovely food, cultural sites every time you turn a corner - it's like one huge museum - and relaxing when you need it to be (roof top bars with views, and small streets away from the main drags are fantastic to get away from the crowds)

Thank you all for the wonderful recommendations. Seville appears to be the most popular choice, so I will definitely be doing some thorough research on it.
