Luxury holiday with kids

DH and I have become used to holidaying in 5 star hotels. Usually Jet2 indulgent escape type places as an indication. We now have a 16 month old. We’ve been to Greece and long haul holidays with DD.

We like hotel facilities and our own outdoor space with sun beds. We like to be at the beachfront and avoid high rise hotels. (This is why we like the Greek islands) We like a good sized room, a junior suite at least but ideally a separate living area and bedroom.

All inclusive is handy because we like breakfast and lunch buffets - ideal for DD.

We like a bit of room service too.

Any tips?

We have a decent budget - about £10K for 10 nights but a bit of flexibility here.

Have you looked at the Algarve? Martinhal Quinta, Vila Vita, places like that could be an option.

IKOS or one of the Sani hotels?

Lovetotravel123 · 18/08/2024 09:14

Hotel Botanico in Tenerife is good and I think Jet2 offer it.

IKOS

IKOS garden one bedroom suites are what you're after.

Have you posted twice?

Ikos or Martinhal.

Yes. Posted on AIBU for more responses which seemed to work. Not many on this thread.

Do they do AI? Some of the high end places don’t have the sort of lunch buffet we’d like for DD. We like buffet lunch and breakfast. For dinner we like good a la carte options but not necessarily fine dining.

I’ll have a look. The villas in hotels are perfect but often just a bit too expensive but will have a look at those options.

I posted on your other thread, but this one is a bit tamer!

If you are put off Sani as it's not AI, they do a buffet (which is excellent quality) for all three main meals at the main hotels which is included in the half/ full board cost. You then pay for drinks on top.

They then have a Dine Around facility by which you get an allowance for food at the other restaurants at each of the hotels/ around the Marina and you then pay for drinks and any overspend on food on top of the allowance. Depending on how much you drink, I don't think it works out overall as that much different pricewise to a good AI like Ikos, you just have a bill at the end.

Yes much tamer! People don’t have very nuanced thinking on AIBU.

Thanks, that sounds quite good. Are the buffet restaurants near where we’d likely have a room? Sorry if that’s a daft question. We like the ease of popping down rather than a jaunt.

@Hadenough1234567 definitely for Sani Beach and Club, not sure about the other areas. Although, I have just looked at the opening times for Olympos (the Sani Club buffet) and it doesn’t seem to open for lunch now (it was when we went not that long ago!)

There’s a good Sani FB group which is probably worth looking at for more up to date info.

Definitely Ikos. We've done Dassia last September and this June.

Service is impeccable, everything is included in the AI, including room service and mini bars, no restaurant supplements or just local brands.

The have a crèche service and the staff are amazing, as well as a babysitting service (the same staff)

Dassia isn't a huge resort but doesn't feel like everything is on top of you, but it isn't a huge walk across the resort either.

All of the restaurants are excellent but I could happily eat at the buffet restaurant daily! Everything is so fresh.

It's pricy, but depends when you go (make use of term time holidays while you can)

Like others have said, you want either Ikos or Sani. You could also try Forte Village in Sardinia but haven’t been there personally

Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives

Six Senses Zighy Bay

Both will do all inclusive. Latter has swimming pools in all villas/rooms.

Both have kids club or crèche if you want. I don't have kids and never saw anyone else's for longer than 5 seconds
