Your perfect summer vacation weather

I was fizzing with excitement about our vacation on the Alsace wine routes already - and now I’m about to explode because the forecast is perfect at 26 or 27 degrees every day and mostly sunny. Just one day of lightning storms and rain forecast for our time away.

Aside from the storms it will be perfect weather for pavement cafes, mooching village shops, cycling and picnics and hiking up hills to find castles.

What is your perfect summer vacation weather and which destination have you found it in?

Same as you.
We holidayed on a Greek island in May this year and enjoyed temperatures between 23 and 27 degrees. It was perfect.

Mid twenties, sunny, light breeze.

I can’t understand why people flock to countries that are in the high 30s/40s just to baste themselves on a sun lounger all day while lying by a pool. I did it when younger to get a tan but premature ageing holds little appeal to me these days!

So 20s is perfect - cool enough to actually get out and about to see the sights.

I love around 24/25 with a breeze. Hoping that's the weather I'm going to get in Majorca mid September 😃

Same as you OP. We’ve have been to the southern hemisphere the last few years and it’s winter. Next year we are going to the arctic - will be rather lower than 20’s. I don’t want to roast.

I don't like too hot, my main criterion would be 'tolerably predictable' I think. Which is the main problem with the U.K. !

It does depend on the type of holiday - for several years we did dinghy sailing holidays so 'nice force 3-4 with maybe a bit more for a blast'Grin

30 in a dry heat for a beach holiday.

25 if any activity / sightseeing required.

Those are perfect for me as well.

I have literally never thought about a sailing holiday! Wind has never been a consideration 😂

All the places I would really love to go are either too hot, or too soggy, or both in summertime.

I honestly think the best vacation slot is Easter. I would prefer a shorter Summer holiday and have two weeks at Easter, 2 weeks in May, 3 or 4 weeks in summer , then two in October.

But I’d like the school summer holiday to float around when some counties are on vacay in July, the rest are on vacay in August.

That works brilliantly in other countries.

It would demolish this problem of “peak season” and everyone would stand a better chance of affording a break somewhere.

More frequent and long breaks would be more restful for teachers too (as long as they are careful to teach in the same County as their kids go to school so they are on summer hols at the same time)

Yes... now I don't have a kid in school, hols are mostly in the April-June and sept/oct periods. Not august!

Sightseeing in hot weather is no fun at all.

We're getting 19 and rain for next week's camping trip according to the weather app 😫

That was us last year! In the Netherlands, the campsite flooded. Torrents of rain.

I hope you get the sun peaking through at least sometimes. The forecasters seem to have been quite unreliable this year so that might work in your favour!!

Blue skies and 22-26d is perfect weather. As pp said you can do more when it's warm but not unbearable, and for me sitting by a pool or on a beach would drive me to drink, and I'm teetotal!

The best thing about being abroad in this kind of weather is that it is more or less consistent. You know when you go to bed at night that it WILL be sunny and gorgeous next day. That is not the case here and the grey skies can bring you right down.
