Fatigue tips for Disneyland Paris

Hey MN,

Myself and my DH are going to Disneyland Paris in a month, neither of us has been as a kid and we never went on a honeymoon due to Covid so we decided to have a couple of days in Disneyland Paris to be big kids and have fun.

We’ve booked the Marvel hotel as the Disneyland hotel was just too much money. Having a couple of days there and on the last night we will travel back to Paris for a night there after a full on day.

are there any tips to combat fatigue? I don’t want us to be too grumpy. I’m going to get a pair of Brooks and break them in before going, my sister said she was desperate for a foot spa after as she had such swollen feet and ankles, is there something anyone recommends that could be nice to help feet? I know there’s a spa there but don’t really want to waste time there when we could go when we are back. would crocs be good to wear at the hotel at night and give my feet a mini massage with the textured sole? If so I’ll get us both a pair.

any tips like this really, please let me know! Thanks

We went with our 2 little ones in June and did 3 full days in the park (including a 15 min walk back to hotel Cheyenne each day for the kids to nap, then I’d walk the 15 mins back as DH stayed in with them and then walk back to meet them then return to the park. Did 30-35k steps each day. I switched between my trainers and crocs and it was nice to switch in and out. I was fine though.

was tired when I got home but between all the noise, excitement and treats we didn’t have any fatigue. I think I may have soaked my feet in the bath one night after a hot day as they were swollen.

if you haven’t and there’s tickets left, buy the fireworks viewing pass for €19 each - such an incredible view. We got an ice cream on Main Street then walked over there for about 10pm and sat on the floor on the second row and waited until the show started munching our ice cream and chilling. Then when the show started we were right at the front, no pushing/shoving, perfect view. Got a bit wet from the sprinklers that’s how close we were!

use the shows to rest as well haha!

The light show is very late in the summer, it was at 11pm when we were there in July, so plan which day you want to do this. We did it on our first day and only went into the park around 3pm that day, had dinner in the park and stayed for the light show. I was glad we hadn't had a full on day in the park and then a late night.

Other than that, it will depend on how many days park tickets you have as to how busy you will be. We had 4 days park tickets, and we ended up doing 2 full days and 2 half days, which was perfect and not too rushed.

Yes I agree that it's worth it to pay for the tickets to the restricted area for the light show. We didn't pay for any tickets to the shows/light show etc, and I don't think it's worth it for anything else, but if I was going again I'd definitely pay for the tickets for the light show. It gets crazy busy and you really want to be able to see it.

Interesting, I’ve not thought much about the shows mainly been about the rides and the food!

looking at booking auberge de cendrillon, but when I saw it on TikTok I was a bit underwhelmed by the decor - am I being silly or is there something better? Couldn’t book the restaurant in the Disneyland hotel as not staying there

Don't try and rush it. Walk around at a leisurely pace. Have a few sit down snack/meal breaks during the day.

In 2 days, if the park is busy, which it usually is, you probably won't see everything but you can see a lot.

The shows are great and give you a chance to rest while enjoying watching the performances. Part of being there is just soaking up the atmosphere. We've been twice and really enjoyed it all.
