Just looking for advice I'd like to book it for my little girls birthday. I do like to pay it off monthly I just wondered if anyone knows how much of a deposit you usually have to pay when you do it this way?

Also I wondered is it worth booking the Disney hotel or do you think you could get away with booking a separate hotel. Just wondered if that would massively take away from the "experience"

Any tips or recommendations things you wish you knew before you went would be amazing , thank you xxx

How would you be getting there?

Just look on the official DLP website for prices and it will tell you how much the deposit is.

Personally I would recommend staying at any of the official Disney hotels, they are all very nearby and walking distance to the parks. The Disneyland Hotel is extremely expensive but it is the nicest! We've stayed at them all and always go back to Santa Fe.

There are a few Disney hotels at different price points. If you book them you get tickets included (and tickets are expensive!) and you also get into the parks one hour earlier so it depends if that plus proximity is worth it for you. The four most expensive hotels also have a pool. Breakfast is not included in the hotels unless you add it on.

I have always stayed “off site” in the past and still had a good time although I would say the worst thing about it is the shuttle bus which is always mobbed. Our next visit we will be staying on site mainly to be a short walk from the parks as we have a 2yo, we are staying at the Sequoia Lodge which is in the mid ranged price.

We booked through attraction tickets instead of directly with Disney. This was a hotel and tickets package. Stayed on site at Sequoia lodge.

It was coming up £50 cheaper through attraction tickets and had same t&c as direct with Disney. I think it was £50 deposit and you could cancel right up to the week before I'm sure. Balance had to be paid 12weeks prior. U are able to make payments whenever u want I just waited until it was almost due and then paid the rest.

You get in the parks an hour earlier if u stay on site which is gd but we never went back to hotel then back to the park. I thought we would but we just tried to stay as long as we cld. We only made the fireworks one night as kids were exhausted. This was sep last year and kids were 3 and 6. I've heard getting out the park or even on to your shuttle can be a nightmare don't was great we just walked to and from the hotel it was only 10mins walk.

We did princess dining which we were able to book with ticket attraction too and it was added to our booking. We also got a gift card offer on booking and received €25 and we used that to put towards the photo pass. It's well worth the money. Our own pics were rubbish in comparison to the professional Disney ones.

Take lots of snacks for the queues it helps keep the kids amused.

Do all the shows if u can they are all amazing!

Not sure how long ur planning but we had 4 1/2 days at Disney and still didn't manage every ride although it was a couple of little rubbish ones we missed. Some we ended up on several times just the way it worked out. I wouldn't want to do any less than 3days as I imagine you'd struggle to fit most of it in otherwise.

We’ve been going since it opened and have stayed everywhere except Sante fe , I definitely prefer the Disneyland hotel just for its convenience and am not as keen on the New York since they Marvelled it . Driving is very easy and by far the cheapest and most convenient way to get there .

We did it last year, stayed on site at the hotel Cheyenne. You get magic hour so can access the parks an hour before general opening and it's easy to walk to and from the parks. We went for 3 nights, flew to CDG and got a transfer from there. We booked through a travel agent and did a dining package which included our breakfast and evening meal. This was definitely worth it as food in the parks is expensive.

We had a good time, although I was missing that American customer service you get at WDW and the weather wasn't great (we went in may).

The eurostar doesn't go straight through to DLP anymore so something to be mindful of.

Probably wouldn't go back but we paid just under £3k so it was a good way to do Disney without the ££££ needed for Orlando.

I would also advise to pre-book your restaurants before you go. You link your tickets through the app and can then prebook your dining experiences. We did the pym kitchen, Ratatouille restaurant and pirates of the Caribbean one.
