Walking In Paris

WalkingInParis · 27/07/2024 00:31

Hello, I have booked tickets for Roland Garros next week (yay!). The train arrives late so I think we will stay near Gard Du Nord. Is it possible to walk (with DD17 who likes walking) down to the Seine, along the river and across to the stadium? Does anyone know roughly how many miles it is and how long it will take? Or is that a crazy idea and we are best to get the metro? Many thanks

I've just got back and it's not easy to get around either on foot or by metro. Google Maps was very up to date with metro closures but I didn't see the Seine in forty eight hours ! You'll need a pass.

I think it's a Metro ride to be honest. Roland Garros is not too far a Metro journey from the Musee Marmatton as well.

There's this marvellous newfangled invention called Google maps, you should check it out.

It's not walkable. It's right out on the city limits. From Gare du Nord, take line 4 southbound & change at Odeon onto line 10 westbound.

Google maps says around 2 hours and 40 mins.

I was in Paris this week too, and the security around the Seine was something else. But I thought I'd read that it was being lifted after the opening ceremony, so access might be easier now.

But aside from that, Roland Garos is too far to walk!
