Going Glamping this weekend in Poole and wondered if you could recommend so things to do, I have a 3 and a 4 year old. Will go to the beach and have seen Hamworthy park paddling pool if it's sunny, any suggestions would be amazing please. Hoping to be outside mostly but some rainy day ideas would also be great.

thank you

I've been to the Splashdown Waterpark there - but it might be a bit older age range - great fun though.

Oh yes I did see that but I think they are probably a bit too little for that at the moment, definitely one for the future though

I can’t think where it is now now but there’s a crazy golf somewhere that my kids enjoyed

Depending what sort of thing you like. Farmer Palmers

Sandbanks beach

Upton Country park
Moors valley country park

Corfe castle! Swanage railway

Swanage is a lovely beach resort nearby. Poole park has a little train you can go on and big lakes you can feed the ducks on. You are also not far from Sandbanks and the beach there or studland if you fancy going over on the chain link ferry.

There are boat rides from Poole key to Swanage and back. You can also do a boat bus and train trip www.morebus.co.uk/enjoy-day-out-spectacular-dorset-bus-boat-and-steam-train

Kayjay2018 · 23/07/2024 19:56

Poole Quay that should say!

There's also brownsea island you can get a boat to.

Lemur landings is a soft play in Poole that’s great for your dc ages if it’s a miserable rainy day

moors valley country park (not far in the car from Poole) has a gruffalo and a play trail and big outdoor play areas. Also a little steam train, tree top walk trail, cafe etc. Also has a go ape tree top obstacle course but more for older children. Definitely would recommend a visit though

Poole has a nice park a very short walk from the main shopping area, (it’s called Poole park or the boating lake I think) and it has a big lake, outdoor play areas, and I think it has an Indoor soft play and cafe there as well but we’ve never been inside. They often have live music randomly playing outside which dc like to dance around too and have an ice cream sat on the grass.

O and corfe castle (as well as the village of corfe is lovely)
Lulworth cove is worth a visit,
swanage town has a steam train, arcades, lovely sea front and child friendly beach, nice little shops to mooch around, Punch and Judy, and a little pirate/dinosaur fun fair overlooking the sea (and a free park right next to it that’s good for little ones!)

Also lots of farms around the general area I
verwood heavy horse farm
Putlake adventure farm
farmer palmers farm

You're not too far from Monkey World which the little ones would love

NamelessNinja · 23/07/2024 20:10

Farmer Palmer's is a short drive away and is really lovely although not cheap for a day ticket, quite a lot of covered areas though if it rains.
Also Monkey world and the tank museum a little further out if that would interest your little one.
There is a Steam train that goes from Corfe to Swanage which you could make a day trip of.
Upton country park is a great park and Poole park itself has two play parks and often a little train. There is a soft play called the Ark next to the smaller playpark in case it rains- I think it's hideous but it's my kid's favourite.
Moors valley/Avon heath country parks also good but expensive parking and a bit further out.

Splashdown is a bit big for a 3 and 4 yo imo. There's a small younger kids bit.

LimeFish · 23/07/2024 22:32

Adventure Wonderland

@LimeFish adventure wonderland shut down last year I believe.
Its a shame as my dc loved it there when we went a few years ago.

there is the Bournemouth aviation museum next door of your dc like planes etc, and it’s right by the airport so you can combine it with watching planes take off.
