Restaurants don't open till 7 - kids tea?

We plan to go to Rixos Abu Dhabi in January but I see the restaurants don't open until 7pm, loads of all inclusive seems to be the same. What do you all do about kids tea when on similar holidays? Ours are 1 & 4 and they're passed out asleep by 7pm...

I always found that everything got a bit later because of the very hot middle of the day and an afternoon nap.

Then up later in the evening and sleeping in later in the morning.

Even if actual restaurants aren't open will there be poolside bars and that type of thing for snacks? The kids are so little.

MN probably won't approve but mine would live on things like crisps, grapes and nutella at that age on holiday.

Stay on UK time: 7pm there is 4pm here.
Have afternoon naps.
They might surprise you. Took my son to South of France with friends with older children when he was 2. He gradually moved later each evening. Slept from 12 midnight to 12 noon on the last night!!! (His 4 year old sister was up earlier, but she managed).

A four year old? Napping?

We had "siestas" until much older than 4 when we went on holiday to hot countries. Even if we didn't actually sleep, we knew we had to stay in our rooms and rest.

As everyone else said - just use the time difference to your benefit.

They eat dinner with you at say 8 which is 5pm UK time. Then bedtime for 9.30/10. If you are lucky they will sleep in longer than usual in the morning to match the later bedtime/time zone and you’ll get a lie in. If not and they wake up at 6-7 then they’ll need an extra long nap in the day (sensible anyway in heat).

Downside of all this is you don’t get much of an evening together just adults as they are up late. You might get an hour on the balcony after they are asleep and before you go to bed. Upside is you might get lie ins or extra nap time.

We used to gradually change meal times so the kids were used to eating later and on holiday we'd have a nap ( all of us) in the hottest part of the day.

On Naxos we sometimes ate around 2 am if we'd been on a ferry.

Adjust.

My guess is you will find places open before 7pm.

I’ve been to the Rixos in Ras-al-Khaimah and there was always a midafternoon snack available and a restaurant that ran all day - I’d think the AD one will have something similar.

I’ve just come back from staying at the Rotana in Abu Dhabi and really enjoyed it.
