Had a look for a three night city break to Paris. Jet2 don't seem to fly there. Want to fly from Stansted. Any recommendations? Thank you

There doesn't seem to be any flights direct from Stansted to Paris.
EasyJet go from Luton.

Don’t fly, get the Eurostar.

Ohhh Eurostar hadn't even thought of that. We live just outside London. Will take a look. Thank you

Wanted to fly from stansted as we only live 15 mins away. I wonder why they don't fly to Paris.

Because they think you'll just go on the train?

Eurostar to Paris is so much nicer than flying.

mrsnjw · 22/07/2024 06:34

I'll check out Eurostar thank you all so much

Eurostar is excellent. I just got back from Paris, 5 days ago. It was my first time on the Eurostar. It was prompt and an excellent service. I will definitely use it again.

Don't fly to Paris from London - that's crazy.

The Eurostar is 2hrs 15min and gets you right to the centre of Paris. Plus CdG is horrid.

Prices will be high for the next month or so due to the Olympics though.

France has banned domestic flights where there is a train that will do the journey in under 2.5 hours.

While London would not count as 'domestic' if the London to Paris journey time on Eurostar is 2 hrs 15 mins, then I can see that it will be quicker (and cheaper?) to go by train when you account for the shorter check in time and that the city centre to city centre aspect is much quicker (most people going to Paris from SE England will want to be in the city rather than somewhere near CDG, and most people travelling to London from northern France will also likely want to be in London, rather than somewhere near one of it's airports so time will be saved at at least one end of the journey).
