Really struggling to find a nice affordable holiday at the end of August

Hi,

I'd love some recommendations of somewhere nice and not too expensive in Europe. I've been very unexpectedly given some money with the stipulation that we can only spend it on a holiday.

I've been shocked at how expensive package deals are so am finding tricky to find something. We haven't gone abroad in years as we couldn't afford to so I definitely had unrealistic expectations initially. Our budget is £5000 including flights for 2 adults and one 10 year old child.

Everything I've seen offers a room with a sofa bed which just doesn't appeal! I've tried looking at villas but there's very little left. Any help would be much appreciated 👏

Does the money have to be spent this year? You would probably be able to find a better holiday next summer with the money.

Next year would make more sense financially that's for sure.

You can change the search on websites such as Jet2.com to a 2 bedroom apartment. You should easily find something within a 5k budget.

Can you? I can't get that to work!

Would somewhere offering a 1 bed appartment work? Main bed room and then a sofa bed in lounge. Still a sofa bed but in a seperate room? Either ask in a travel agent or so on line search for 4 people forst to see where this ia available. Best accomodation we had for similar scenario was Paradise Park in Los Cristianos, Tenerife. ( on jet2 tui and independently)

Hi,

Thanks for all of your suggestions and for taking the time to look for us. I really appreciate all the links and ideas given. I had looked at last-minute
.com but got a bit overwhelmed with all the various options. Searching for two bed places does make sense, i'll look into that later. My dh is a snorer so that's why all of us in the same room doesn't work too well😴

We always book villa as we have two ND children who need their own rooms to retreat to. Last year we used Owners Direct and there was still plenty left for August even though we didn’t book till June. They were excellent, very efficient and communicative, and considerably cheaper than the “big” villa companies.

yes we booked a holiday to Majorca yesterday using it. It only comes up on a computer or laptop though- not on your phone. It is on the left hand side x
