Can someone advise please?

My 16yo DD Received her new passport this week. I asked her to sign it and whilst I was reading the little instructions leaflet she signed below the line. I noticed and was panicked so told her to sign above the line.

Just googled and looks like her passport could be invalid.

I want to book a last minute holiday, what to do 🤦🏽‍♀️

I'd take it to the post office and ask their advice - a main one which does passports
Unless someone else who knows comes along
Good luck

I've had a similar issue. My mother signed her passport below the line rather than on it so I messaged the passport office for advice. They said it was ok if there was only one signature and not signed twice so probably worth getting in touch and asking for further advice.
Hope this helps. This happened yesterday

Thank you

Don't have a big post office o my town anymore.

I'm going to ring the passport office tomorrow. I have a feeling I'll have to pay for another. The main concern it won't arrive in time for the dates I'm not in work and can book to get away.

I'm pretty sure that nobody will check. The signature is on a different page from the main personal information, which is all that anyone will look at, except perhaps if you send it in to a consulate for a visa. No EU border official will refuse you entry for this.

By all means order a new one when you get back from holiday, but don't cancel a trip over this issue.

I’m sure she will be fine - just use the E gates where possible. My 2 teens got new passports a few weeks ago and we travelled last week to Europe and just realised both haven’t even signed their passports and nothing was picked up so as long as it’s valid they should be fine.
