It could be quite cool - long sleeves and trousers, and a rain jacket.

the average is meant to be about 23ºC durng the day in April, so probably trousers and tshirts rather than shorts and vests
and def a cardigan or jacket for the evenings

Thanks,
To top it all off I have just noticed that dd1 has grown out of her clothes and needs a load more in the next size up (I hate shopping!).

The average of 23C does not apply to the North coast, but to the whole of Tenerife. It is much hotter in the South.

Anyways, checking the 10-day forecast on The Weather Channel says that it will be max daily temperature in Puerto de la Cruz of around 20C.

It's a hard place to pack for because you really do need a combination of summer and spring clothes, and be prepared for rain.

If you want to make a trip up Teide, you will need warm clothes and it is freezing at the peak.

It looks (BBC website) as if it's going to be around 19-20 C all week.

We've just come back from a week in Crete where it was variably (very variable weather) below & above that, & ds (9) and dd (7.5) needed layers - so short sleeves fine if you have a sweatshirt to hand too; cropped trousers fine, but not shorts; jeans would be OK but cords too heavy. Socks & trainers, not sandals. Slippers not bare feet. Hats & sunglasses - sun much brighter than they're used to yet this year.

We took light rainproof windcheater things - ie rain jacket with cotton lining. Those were perfect.

We also took summer (shorties) pjs - but that was wrong - they needed ordinary pjs (nights quite nippy), and politely mentioned they'd have liked me to have packed their dressing gowns.

Oh - other thing I meant to say - we took far too many clothes - children wore the same t-shirt & trousers for a couple of days in a row (for some reason I took enough for clean every day); & two jumpers/sweatshirts each were easily enough for the week.

Thnaks a lot.

We won't be going up Teide as I did that as a child and went blue through lack of oxygen!

I've packed for a round the world holiday with a baby with less stress than this holiday is causing me!!!!!
