We're going to Spain in August, me my partner and 4 kids 3 boys and a girl. Can anyone who travels help with what I need to pack for 7 days for the children? Would be grateful with any advice so I can get a check list going thanks. I don't want to over pack but I also don't want to be short 🤦🏽‍♀️

An outfit for day and night, each. So 14 per person.
Less, if you plan to spend several days at pool or beach - in that case swimwear is fine during those days and one outfit each evening.

7 pairs of underwear and socks (can be hand washed if needed)

Wear a pair of runners, bring flip flops for pool and a pair of sandals.

A hat or two per person and a pair of sunglasses.

Bring sun cream its always so expensive.

Depending how old the kids are, something to entertain them while travelling or sitting in accommodation.

10,7,6,1 and it's mainly clothes we have games for the plane etc

No way would Ipersonally pack 14 outfits for 7 days. Seems like overkill. Either they aren't worn enough so can wear for 2 nights in a row, or day and evening can be the same plus a hoodie or whatever.
7 T shirts, 2 jumpers, 1 trousers, 2 shorts/skirts.

We have 2 days out planned a boat trip and a theme park, and the rest we are going on the water slide park beach or by the pool

I used to pack all sorts like plasters, aftersun, cooling sprays, medicine etc. But all of that can be bought there.

I usually take a couple of paracetamol/ibuprofen just in case we get there late at night and can't go shoos tio morning.

Also teabags 🤣

We're staying in an apartment so will be doing a food shop when we get there

Ah well then way less outfits needed. They'll probably live in swimwear most days.
You just need something for the evening's and then a couple of shorts and Tshirts/dresses for other days.

Outfits never last me more than one wear on holidays. Something always melts or drips or sun cream covers everything and we look filthy. 🤣

User628291938949 · 07/07/2024 15:44

Yeah I have messy kids haha 🤣 I'm thinking 7 outfits for the evenings and then a couple of dresses shorts and ts for the day how many swimsuits should I pack haha I'm useless

What we gave sometimes done is clean clothes for the evening for going out to eat, then rewear the top the next day for beach, suncream etc.

Notimeforaname · 07/07/2024 16:32

You'll get away with one swimming costume each but if you have room for two,I'd bring two per person. Sometimes they dont dry out by morning if balcony is not in sun.

Sound perfect.

LIZS · 07/07/2024 16:44

4/5 each of t shirt, shorts, dresses, a cardigan, hoodie or light jacket and one or two smarter outfits for evening if you plan to eat out, swimsuits and rash vests, sunhats, sandals. Take some travel wash and rinse through any worn clothes mid week to dry outside. Check if pool towels are provided.

User628291938949 · 07/07/2024 16:44

Ah he's didn't think travel wash can I get this on Amazon? I'll grab some! And yeh 2 swimsuits each

Given you are in an apartment, I'd just use washing up liquid for handwashing, it's just as effective.
Sometimes the problem is getting things dry so I'd rinse through things early in the holiday to make sure you have plenty for the end.

Thanks everyone for your advice I've noted it haha

I pack less when in an apartment because you can then wash used clothes on Day 3/4.

Bjorkdidit · 08/07/2024 08:13

14 outfits per person is insane. For adults, 4 sets you can wear in the evening and similar for daytime (dress or shirt/shorts to throw on over swimwear) is plenty. Then underwear each day and a couple of sets of swimwear so you can rinse and alternate. Don't forget you also have the clothes you travel in.

DC might need fresh clothes each day if they throw food all over themselves but they can wear whatever they wear in the evening the next day.

OP do you know what supermarkets you have nearby? Mercadona, Eroski, Lidl and Dia are the most common, normally priced supermarkets (with normal price suncream too instead of ££££s in convenience stores) and if you aren't near one of these (take your suitcases to use as shopping trolleys if walking) it's probably worth making the journey to one to stock up as the Spars and Super/Hiperdinos are a lot more expensive (nearly double the price).
