Hi I hope you can help me. Am looking to do disney paris in Oct but not sure which hotel to go for. Any one been to the New York? Also should we opt for half board? If we do how does the voucher system work? Sorry lots of questions but it costs so much we want to get it right! Will be DH Me and DD aged 4 Any tips would be gratefully received!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn and it was fine - cheaper than the disney hotels, but the free shuttle bus ran hourly( i think) to disneyland and its on the same strip as the disney hotels. Has a pool and nice family rooms.

We just had breakfast - it was quite expensive to eat in disney, but we did it anyway (apart from seocn day when we made sandwiches from breakfast croissants and ham and cheese to take with us, stolen from breakfast in hotel )

We stayed at the Dream Castle in February which is just outside the park. We were breakfast only. To eat in the parks is expensive and most of the same kind of 'rubbish', pizzas, burgers & chips. Eating in the hotel restaurants is also expensive we were £140 for 2 meals. Room service - just don't even go there.

If there is the option of half board I would go for it. Most of our money went on crap food.

Thanks Fimbo and MamaG. Cannot believe how much your meal was! I had heard the food was expensive but not quite like that! Love the sandwich making idea.

There is a hypermarket which is one stop down on the train at Val D'Europe (big indoor shopping centre place), we bought loads of stuff for the room from there.

We went to the New York hotel and we loved it - really recommend it. It is cheaper than the Dream Castle Hotel but is probably just as good. It is the second closest hotel to the Park and only 10 mins walk to the entrance, and right next to Disney Village. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was good. I wouldn't have half board as you will be too restricted, having to go back to the hotel every night for dinner, but maybe with a 4 year old it would be a good idea as you could go back for dinner and a rest, and then pop back out again. Agree with the others that all the restaurants are expensive and bad food. We had one good meal in Cafe Mickey which had lovely pasta and all the characters came out to see the children.

Have a great time!

Disney are offering Half Board deals on a dine around system. There are three options Half Board Standard where you can use up to 6 restaurants in the Parks,Disney Village and different Hotels.. Cheyenne, Santa Fe and Davy Crockett Ranch. You can use the vouchers for lunch or dinner.
Half Board Plus is valid in up to 14 Restaurants in the Parks, The Village and restaurants in Hotel New York, Newport Bay Club and Sequoia Lodge.
Half Board Premium is valid in all resort table and buffet restaurants.
If you can get hold of the Disneyland 15 brochure, page 82 lists all the restuarnats that can be used.
The Half board plus is £17.00 per adult per night and £8.00 per child, and is probably the best of the three as the premium is £31.00 per adult and £10.00 per child.
Hope this helps

Thanks everyone, your information is very helpful. Hotsue, I have the Thomson brochure but it doesn't really explain the dining system so will definitely get the disney one you mention. Will also give me a chance to compare prices. My DD loves pasta so will definitely have to vist cafe Mickey.
