Which Disneyland Paris Hotel?

So we’re looking at taking our DD8 and DS3 next year to Disneyland Paris and wondering which hotel you would think is the best to visit including the actual Disneyland hotel. We’ve already ruled out Marvel as they wouldn’t be too fussed by it.

I stayed at the Nee York the twice I took ds when he was little (10 + years ago)

It was a good compromise between price/distance to park and quality

DontBiteTheCat · 22/06/2024 21:28

We stayed at Davy Crockett ranch, which is a little further out but gave us more space, it was more like a mobile home with decking and seating, and had a really good pool, restaurant and shops on site.

Lewiscapaldiscat · 22/06/2024 21:31

New York is now marvel.

best value and proximity to the park is Newport bay or sequoia - both 10 - 15 minute walk in and you get the early half hour.

ScaryGabbyGabby · 22/06/2024 21:36

We stayed in Newport Bay. Yes the rooms were a bit dated but we were barely in it. Good walking distance to the park, early magic hour, character visit in the hotel at night, swimming pool if the kids wanted it. We would stay there again. I would only consider Newport, sequoia or Marvel for walking distance to the park.
Obviously would do the disneyland hotel if it was in my price range!

PitterPatter3 · 22/06/2024 21:39

The Disney Land Hotel has just had a major refurb. It’s by far the closest to the park and saves a lot of walking, so that would definitely be my first choice if it’s an option.

DinnaeFashYersel · 22/06/2024 21:46

We've stayed a few times at the Newport. It's 4 star. So pretty nice and just a 10 minute walk.

Stayed at the Cheyenne in the past. Perfectly nice but further away.

Cornflakelover · 22/06/2024 22:14

Stayed at the Dieneyland Paris Hotel a few years ago and stayed for 6 nights
we were full board so we had breakfast
A character lunch every day around the park
And a character dinner every evening at the hotel

hotel was absolutely amazing
and the smell was gorgeous ( you could buy it for 60 euros as a room spray 😂

would definitely recommend it for ease of access to the parks

OneFrenchEgg · 22/06/2024 22:30

Newport Bay is super boring for theming. I'd stay at one of the further away ones if you don't mind a walk. Stayed at HNY and going back this month now it's Marvel.

Travellingraspberry · 22/06/2024 22:38

Sequoia Lodge is a good mid price option out of the on site Disneyland hotels. Would recommend paying the little bit extra to stay in the main building rather than one of the other blocks as it could be a long walk to breakfast if you have it at the hotel. Rooms were a little dated but comfortable and the pool was great to have.

greengreyblue · 22/06/2024 22:40

Cheyenne was fab in October 2014. A nice walk from park but not too far. Loved the theme and food was good.

ChocolateCroissantCafe · 22/06/2024 22:45

I think you need a car for Davy Crockett as it's further out and not on the shuttle, but Newport Bay, Sequoia, Cheyenne and Santa Fe are walkable

FunZebra · 22/06/2024 22:47

Currently at Sequoia. Have also done Marvel, Newport Bay, Santa Fe and Davy Crockett.

all depends what you’re looking for and how much you want to spend, really.

Agree. In a lake view room currently and it’s lovely. A much shorter walk than when we stayed at NPB (which is absolutely enormous).

You can walk the way along the canal.
Or the quick route out the front entrance (less scenic)

It's all money driven!
Disneyland hotel is nice and close and very very expensive
Sante fe is acceptable and a 15-20 min walk but 1/5 of the price.

DeathWinsAGolfish · 22/06/2024 23:07

Agree with @Cornflakelover we stayed at Disneyland Paris Hotel it was really worth it.

Verite1 · 23/06/2024 00:22

We stayed at Newport. About a 10-15 minute walk to the park. Great pool. Rooms were fine but mattress very hard! Would still book it again if we returned though.

FannyFifer · 23/06/2024 00:26

We really liked Cheyenne, liked the western town theme.

Floralnomad · 23/06/2024 00:35

Disneyland Hotel , you just can’t beat it for the convenience of being right at the main park .

thisisasurvivor · 23/06/2024 00:38

Don't do it

There are lovely non Disney hotels for around 80 a night a 5 min car ride away

Disney hotels are not great

HEIHEI23 · 23/06/2024 06:16

I know you said Disney hotels and it completely depends on age of your children! There are some amazing hotels in Val d’Europe which is a 3 minute train ride or a 15/20 minute walk. We stayed there last time and were actually at the back of Santa Fe so just walked in with everyone staying there. Relais Spa is lovely and where a lot of the Disney cast members stay with families. There’s a huge shopping centre and aquarium as well as supermarkets so you have the option to save a bit of money.

Anywhoyou · 23/06/2024 09:48

We definitely want to be as close to the park really and we want it to be as magical as possible. My DD has a physical disability, although she can walk she will be in a lot of pain at the end of the day so will end up not wanting to walk too far.

For those who have experienced more than one of the hotels. What would you say the main differences other than theme is between the Disneyland hotel and the other ones?

OP posts:
Verite1 · 23/06/2024 09:55

The location. You are literally at the entrance of the park. If you can afford it, you can’t get better than that! Do try and do early access as well. We got most of our rides done during the first couple of hours of the day or the evening

MalteserGeezee · 23/06/2024 10:00

Stayed at Newport Bay. Hotel fine, it's a MUCH further walk to the park than you think, so we actually mostly ended up taking the shuttle to and from in the end. If I went again, I'd prioritize budget for staying at the actual Disneyland hotel, which is properly on park and pretty magical

For your daughter alone I would book the Disneyland hotel. Easy to pop back for a rest and you can see the fireworks from the hotel or it’s a short stroll back at night. Others have shuttle Options but not the same.

Others have indoor and outdoor pool options, it’s more spa like hotel pool. Food practically the same between Newport and Disneyland and all we have stayed in (Disneyland , Newport, Sequoia, Cheyenne and Davy Crockett) had good character interaction at breakfast time (reception for Davy Crockett).

Half board plan handy.

Wholeworldinhishands · 23/06/2024 10:15

The disneyland hotel is closest but that doesn't make it best unless proximity is the main concern and from your reply it is, which means you only have that as a choice. The next closest is marvel but you've already ruled that out. The others are a similar distance to the main car park, which I'm assuming you will get disabled parking. We choose this option now and stay off site as the accommodation suits our disabled child's needs better.
We stayed at the disneyland hotel before the refurb when it cost 1/3 of what it does now. It was ok but not 5*. We have been back since the refurb but not as guests so i can't comment on rooms but the lobby/shop area is so very busy and for this reason I wouldn't choose there.
