What's a good price for flights to NYC

We want to go to New York next Easter.

DH has found some flights for £850 each but I have no idea whether that is a good price or not, or when would be a good time to get a deal.

That really expensive if it’s economy and just for the flight. Unless it’s fixed dates i.e. it’s for a wedding then I would play around with dates on sky scanner. Just had a quick look now and you can get a long weekend over the first weekend of May for £377. I really wouldn’t want to pay more than £500 unless it’s for a premium cabin.

To add though: Easter weekend will attract a premium as it’s a holiday in both countries so if you don’t have to go then, then don’t

It's probably high because they sting you for the school holidays. As PP says, if you are flexible with your dates, you will probably do better.

Prices depend on depend.National holidays are high demand. If you can vary dates, you will get a better deal. It’s on the high side because it’s a popular time to fly.

That seems very high. I've just booked 4 seats the weeks before Christmas, Virgin Atlantic, premium economy £600 per head. Skyscanners?

I paid £580 each for return Premium economy flights last month with British Airways and my family of four were all upgraded to business class (best day ever) for the journey out there.

Impossible to say without dates and whether you have airport restrictions. Heathrow will have more options than Manchester for example.

Aer Lingus will fly you through Dublin. It's an almost 2 hour stopover but you clear customs and immigration in Dublin and just walk out the other side as though you've arrived from Ohio so might also be worth a look.

@Lordofmyflies Which week before Christmas though? Schools don’t break up until 19/20th. It makes a big difference. The week before 20 th isn’t state school holiday and people find December cold in NY so less pressure on flights.
