Overseas Holiday at 6 months pregnant?

I'm pregnant with number 2. Looking at a holiday in October half term when my toddler is off pre-school and we have to take holiday for childcare. By this point I will be 27 weeks (6 months). It's probably the last chance of a sunshine break for a while as won't be going overseas when on mat leave but husband thinks I'll be 'too pregnant'. From research I've read this is best time in 2nd trimester (Although right on the cusp)and it's hard to qualify as a comparison to 1st pregnancy as I barely left the house in last pregnancy at that stage due to covid so hard to think what my restrictions were in pregnancy. Is it too risky / would I be too heavy at this stage? Looking at Larnica for some winter sun as we can't travel sooner given it's early.

If you have an easy pregnancy it's the ideal time. However if there are stressful aspects you might not fancy it, so I'd get good travel insurance to mean to can.cancel without losing everything.

I went abroad for a week at 7 months with a toddler

I wouldn't say I was 'too pregnant' but it wasn't really relaxing due to the toddler.
If your partner is willing to make sure you get a break then go

We went to Portugal with an almost 2 year old when I was 6m pregnant and it was fine. Just uncomfortable to have my eldest sat on me on the plane at times. The holiday was great I really recommend going if you can - it was nice to spend time together before baby and like you my first pregnancy had been in Covid. We just took it easy whilst there.

I went abroad at 6 months pregnant with twins (I also had an 18 month old!) - it was fine and actually a nice last chance to have a ‘single child’ holiday.

Recently went to Switzerland at 29 weeks and loved it!

You might need a letter from GP for the airline if you travel after 28 weeks. It would confirm no complications. I’d go somewhere with good healthcare and relaxing. Or go earlier and stay at home in October week.

Make sure your travel insurance covers pregnancy complications. There are families who have been trapped abroad racking up huge hospital bills because a mother has gone into early labour and they can't travel home until the premature newborn is able to travel, which could be several weeks (and they'd need a passport).
