Flying from Dublin

Hi all, random question. But I'm a UK citizen, living in Manchester. I was looking for flights earlier for a few days away and they were, for example, £150. But from Dublin they're only £47. Does anyone know if I will be able to fly from Dublin to Amsterdam, or will this be frowned upon as I am not an Irish citizen

Of course you can fly from Dublin to Amsterdam. Do you think only British people are allowed to fly out of British airports?

The only thing would be making sure you arrive at the airport with enough time to spare - how are you planning on travelling there? Are you really saving £100 by getting yourself over to Dublin first?

Frowned upon? Do you not know how airports work?? Of course nobody will care, millions of passengers travel internationally every single day.

You’re not going to save any money though if you take into account your travel to Dublin from Manchester

Over the last couple years I have flown, without a problem, via Amsterdam to or from France, Madeira, Germany and the USA, and from the USA via Paris. As long as you have a valid passport and any necessary visas/visa waivers you can travel from the UK to anywhere in the world via any route that works for you.

Weird thought process.

How much will it cost you to get your Dublin?

We always go through Dublin to fly to US and pre clear immigration.

The price difference could be due to lower taxes outside the UK.

You can often fly from UK to Dublin for £15/20 ew without luggage so it could work out cheaper.

There's nothing to stop you doing it like that but whether or not it's worth the extra time and hassle if something goes wrong, for example what if either of your MAN/DUB flights are delayed/cancelled, also will the extra travelling time mean higher parking or food/drink at airport prices costs, reducing the saving to not very much?
