Been pricing up some half term options and found that I can fly incredibly cheaply to Scandinavia. Accomodation on air bnb very good price as well in Oslo at that time. Put it this way it's miles cheaper to fly to abd stay in Oslo which is supposed to be hugely expensive than to go to Lisbon which is supposed to be one of the cheapest destinations ! Eg the flight options I'm looking at are £100 return each including 23kg luggage between us (which will be ample as we generally just do easyJet free hand luggage for a weeks holiday so hold luggage is a luxury )
so I'm thinking about flying to Oslo, 3 nights there, train to Stockholm and 4 nights there abd fly home. can anyone advise on how the general groceries and cafe/lunches out cost compares to south east prices ? I'll be going with DD and we generally have lunch out while exploring but will cook for ourselves in the evening and I like to get local specialties to try from markets or the supermarket just as I would at home. We both love fish abd Scandinavian food sp will be very happy with local food. Is there much free stuff to do around the city ? And is it a nice place for just roaming around ? We are quite happy with cold weather, not a problem. We both have quite simple tastes, wander around, have a coffee, wander a bit more 😂
Been to Helsinki several times in autumn/winter abd don't want to go back unless it's a summer trip and Copenhagen is quite a bit more expensive than Stockholm or Oslo.
