Netherlands holiday help please!

My family and I just got back from a short break at Efteling and are going back next year, but we also want to see more of the Netherlands and are thinking roughly a week in 2025.

We usually holiday in the UK - cottage and explore the local area. Hotels/B&Bs aren't possible as our children are just too noisy.

I've had a look on MN and pretty much every thread I've found comes up with holiday parks instead of cottages...is this how NL breaks are usually done? We stayed in Loonsch land in Efterling which was lovely, but aren't sure of a holiday village for our whole break.

So, are holiday cottages a thing in NL? Children will be 9 and 6 when we next visit. Thank you!

Look at the Landal website - not cottages, but some great accommodation out there with play areas, pools etc. We prefer it, because it gives the kids something to do and they like the opportunity to make friends during the week away.

We stayed at a park just outside Gouda last year. Loads of space, waterfront veranda. Certainly didn't feel like we were staying cheeky by jowl with others.

Edited to drop in the link for where we stayed outside Gouda: https://www.landal.com/parks/de-reeuwijkse-plassen#filter:eyJzIjoiMyJ9

Perfect location for exploring.

Otherwise, Airb&b?

Airbnb and rentals do exist, but little cottages and lodges on holiday parks are very popular. Many large attractions have holiday parks attached like Beekse Bergen Safari Park and Duinrell, and most large lakes or beaches have small holiday parks next to them or nearby. There are plenty of loud kids at these places!

.Roompot.com do some smaller parks and things like beach houses. We stayed at the Water Village in Zeeland a couple of years ago and it was lovely.

Thank you everyone who has replied...so it does seem that holiday villages are the way to go. I shall start looking!
