Disneyland Paris and Actual Paris

Recently my DD has started showing a huge interest in going to Disneyland (it's literally all she talks about).

USA is completely out of the question due to budget but I have been wondering about a couple of nights in Disneyland Paris in October half term - and in an ideal world, I'd like to combine this with a couple of nights in Paris itself as well.

I'm just not sure what is the best way to go about this. I think we'd like to stay in a Disney Hotel (2 nights? 3 nights? Is that enough?) and separately stay in a hotel in the city for a couple of nights. Which way round is best do you think? I'm leaning towards Disney first because otherwise the kids will just be tolerating everything else while they wait for the main event, but would that make Paris a let down after the Disney experience? (I LOVE Paris by the way, it won't be a let down for me, I just don't what loads of 'I want to go back to Disneyland' whining!)

Do you think 2/3 nights in the parks is enough?

Also, are there any sales I should be watching out for or have I missed the boat there and I should just get on with booking?

DC are 9 and almost 5.

a 3 night 4 day package is certainly enough! How are you planning on travelling there

It’s horribly busy in the October half term at DLP . We were out last year for actual Halloween and it was the busiest I’ve seen it and we’ve been a lot . I’d do 2 nights 3 days .

We combined DLP with a few nights in Paris in October 2017. We got the train from Glasgow and stayed at Sequoia Lodge. We then booked into a hotel in the St Denis area of Paris which was very convenient to see the city.
Since covid there haven't been any deals at Disney.

We did 4 days in Paris first and then 2 days at Disney at the end, with the idea that Disney was something to look forward to whilst they walked all over Paris and endured visits to the Louvre and Versaille. Would the kids be more likely to whine about returning to Disney if you do that first? October half-term is busy at Disney, that's actually when we went, lots of Halloween festivities. The parks were pretty full, but we found the queues manageable by keeping a close eye on the queue times in the app, and doing shows when the ride queues were at their longest. Two days was fine to cover near enough all the rides in both parks and to do most shows and the parade once, but it didn't leave any time for character meet and greets. You need 3 days in the park if that's important to your trip. The ticket only prices seem fixed, they have a set price for each and every day, however the packages with hotel can fluctuate more. For 30th July it's £796.22 for a 2 day ticket for 4 people, versus £677 for a package of 2 days of park access and a night in the Hotel Cheyenne for all of us. Obviously they then try and get you to add extras like breakfast, but it can be a good deal. With the hotel package you get magic hours access as well for the duration of your pass.

We did three nights at Disney in October half term last year, followed by one night in Paris. Parks were busy, but really manageable. I was dreading it, but we just used the app a lot to check ride times and made sure we got in for the early entrance for guests staying onsite (and hour early). I think I also bought two fast passes for rides that always had super long queues.

Do Paris first, other wise the kids will be a nightmare as they’ll be super tired after long days at Disney.

2-3 nights is fine for Disney, especially if flight times etc allow them to be pretty much full days. If flights are afternoon flights I’d go for the 3rd night.

Dont bother with the fancy hotels, Cheyenne or Santa Fe is fine, you don’t spend any time in the room and they are comfortable enough to just sleep and change etc.
