We are looking at spending 400 max pp including child so 1200 altogether. We would ideally (but I know may not be possible) like somewhere with a kids pool/few slides/playground, close to a beach and close to a town. There are loads online in the Canary Islands within that budget but I'm just getting overwhelmed. We are not really fussy as obv on a very low budget, but some of the reviews are awful. Any help appreciated!! Thank you

you are not going to get anything for 400£ each AL unless it’s pretty rubbish

It may be possible to get somewhere for £600 each with a free child place but I doubt you'll get A.I.

Honestly I would not think you are going to get anywhere decent for that budget

What about Cape Verde? Just done a search there and for the TUI Suneo Dunas for 7 nights flying from Birmingham on Sept 24th is £589pp including bags. A bit out of your price range but all inclusive with slides and kids water area.

You could go to Cape Verde with €100 and come back with change so might be better to spend that bit extra on the holiday itself when taking away spending money.

Look on jet2 holidays deals finder. Include all the departure airports and destinations you could use. In September mainland Spain would also be a good choice, Costa del Sol etc.

Filter by Trip Advisor 4 and above and sort by price low to high and work your way through the list.

Don't take too much notice of the reviews, a lot of people have unrealistic expectations so will complain about tiny inconsequential things. Or might like different things to you. Eg one person's awful food is someone else's absolute favourite.

Also consider if AI is the best value to you. Unless you are big eaters and drinkers which sounds unlikely with a little one, it might be cheaper to self cater, stock up on easy food, breakfast supplies and drinks, snacks and ice creams from the supermarket and eat out every day.

You could have a proper restaurant lunch then BBQ or have bread, cheese, ham, olives crisps etc in the evening especially if DC is in bed early. You'll have more space than a hotel this way too.
