hi all, I am struggling to find somewhere hot in September, has anyone been anywhere they'd recommend for a couple that's not Spain or Canaries?

Budget is up to £1,000 pp
5 ish hours flight max and no more than one hour airport transfer
Prefer adults only, though not a deal breaker if not
Hotel near to a centre/bit of nightlife and shops/bars etc

thanks :)

Crete. We stayed in a fabulous little village called Koutouloufari in May at Marni Village. It was amazing. It's one of 3 villages right next to each other but within walking distance of Hersonnisos. I'm not sure about adult only options to be honest but I would certainly recommend that area. It was lovely.

Cote D'Azur.

San Remo Italy.

Tossa de Mar near Barcelona

Chania, Crete

Sardinia

Sicily

Montenegro

Croatia

And another vote for Lisbon/Cascais.

Mind if I ask why not Spain? It's a big place... Does that also exclude the Balearics?

We go to Corfu or Cyprus in September.. everything is still open and its still 30 degrees.
Cyprus isn't expensive at all. We stay in a villa in Tala ..just outside Paphos.. but even the AI hotels are less than a £1000 pp.

I’ve been to Crete, Kos and Santorini late September and weather been lovely each time.

Pre kids have done both Croatia and Budapest in September and has been warm. Not sure about budget though - Croatia might cost more. Many moons ago did Kos as well - think a week for £300 - but was at least 25 years ago!!

This. Although the OP could be a very lucky and well travelled person to have already been to all that Spain has to offer which wouldn't be possible in several lifetimes.

I think I've been to Granada about 5 times now and I still want to go back. We've been probably 20 times overall and have barely scratched the surface of Andalucia, Madrid and the area around Barcelona, let alone Bilbao and San Sebastian and Alicante/Valencia areas.

But if the Balearics aren't off the cards for the OP, then Ibiza would be a good choice. We're going to Santa Eulalia soon, which looks like there's loads of restaurants, good beach/snorkelling and bus connections to Ibiza town and a few other places.

French or Italian riviera. Puglia. Sicily.

Im sorry but I will never not say Lanzarote-when I was younger younger (I'm 43), I went a few times in September and it was just the perfect middle ground in every day, the weather, the fact it was pat historical, part touristy etc.
